Yo 1 Royals 0 (Shutting your team out, taking your pitcher deep)
As many baseball fans know, the Milwaukee Brewers have 2 of MLB's best young sluggers in Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun. As good as they are, neither one of them is going to shut your team out, while taking your pitcher deep.
Yo was the show this afternoon, hitting a solo HR, and throwing 5 scoreless frames to beat the Royals 1-0. You may recall a similar thing happening against the Pirates last year (4/29), where Yo outdueled Ian Snell and took him deep as well for the 1-0 Brewer victory.
The Brewers managed 5 hits against the Royals, with Gregg Zaun pushing his ST batting average to .500. Scott Schoeneweis and Mitch Stetter both pitched a scoreless inning for the Brewers, and John Axford finished up the game blanking the Royals for 2 innings.
In other news, MLB network will be airing a Brewers segment "30 clubs in 30 days" tonight at 8pm CST.

lest we not forget when Yo took R. Johnson deep last year in Frisco. I believe that decided the winner in that contest.
30 in 30
I watched and enjoyed the show last night…but did anyone see the part where they listed the Brewers top four starters. Who did they list as #4? None other than our friend Jeff Suppan and his 5.29 ERA last year. A little frustrating that they didn’t even mention that he might not even make the rotation…or team.
The rest of the show was great though. It seemed like they were all more optimistic than the baseball prospectus predictions. It was also cool to see the newcomers Wolf and Zaun interviewed.
Is it April 5th yet????
I'm watching the replay right now
I think they listed Suppan as the #4 pitcher not necessarily because he’s the fourth best pitcher, but rather because he’s likely to make the team and be in the rotation (much to the dismay to many of us).
Also, the “30 in 30” programs are all very optimistic about the team they are covering. It doesn’t do anyone any good if they dwelled on the negatives (despite how true they might be).
Besides the part about Suppan, I found some other things interesting:
1. They listed Gomez in the #2 spot in the lineup. Not surprised, but I thought they were going to put him towards the bottom.
2. Zaun is a switch-hitter. For whatever reason, I didn’t realize that.
3. They really like Escobar. They think he’ll meet expectations (both offensively and defensively) and be a favorite to win the ROY.
4. Zaun, Hoffman and Peterson are all sporting the same haircut.
Best part of the show,
Rickie calling Prince “Big Sexy.”
