Dodgers 8, Brewers 4
W: Clayton Kershaw
L: Doug Davis
It was another tough day for Brewer pitchers today, with Doug Davis unable to complete the fifth inning, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks in 4.2 frames. He did strike out three. After Davis, David Johnson, Trevor Hoffman and Scott Schoeneweis pitched, and all allowed at least one earned run. Todd Coffey pitched a perfect ninth.
Trevor Hoffman made his second appearance of the spring and was hit around, allowing two earned runs on four hits in his inning of work. He didn't walk a batter, but also didn't strike anyone out.
At the plate the news wasn't much better for the Brewers, who managed just six hits on the day. They scored three runs in the first (largely aided by back-to-back botched double plays), but Joe Inglett (a double in the seventh) and Craig Counsell (a ninth inning triple) had the team's only extra base hits.
If you're looking for a silver lining: Rickie Weeks drew a first inning walk and scored a run. Weeks leads all Brewers this spring with eight walks (Joe Inglett is second with seven) and is tied for the team lead with 11 runs (Lorenzo Cain also has 11). He also struck out twice, and now leads the team with 12 of those.

Cain
His OBP so far in ST is .400… compared to Weeks’ .452 (through yesterday).
The last box score I found where he played was the Rangers’ game last Thursday. He came in as a PR for Gomez and scored a run. No ABs.
The day before, he came into the game to PR for Weeks and scored, then stayed in the game to play CF. He had one AB.
He has 21 ABs in 14 games… looks like he does alot of PR.
ahh
so it’s almost like his OBP is like .900
because he gets on base because someone else did.
okay…that explains it

“looks like he does alot of PR.”
Wow…playing spring training and writing press releases too — that’s some impressive double duty.
