Brewers 10, Indians 2
W: Dave Bush
L: Jeremy Sowers
This must be what it's like to face Jeff Suppan.
The Brewers scored four in the first inning and five more in the second today, ending the day early for Jeremy Sowers, who allowed seven runs (six earned) on five hits and two walks in an inning of work. Jim Edmonds and George Kottaras each picked up hits in their first two at bats: Edmonds drove in five runs with his, and Kottaras hit his third home run of the spring. Kottaras was scheduled to come to the plate in the ninth needing a triple for the cycle, but was pinch hit for.
All told, the Brewers had eight hits in the first two innings, and managed just four after that. Casey McGehee also reached base twice, going 1-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts. Jody Gerut's ninth inning RBI double saved him from an 0-for-4 day.
On the mound, Dave Bush became the first Brewer to pitch six innings in a game this spring, allowing a run on five hits and three walks, striking out one. He only faced three batters in the first, fifth and sixth innings, but had to work out of bases loaded jams in the third and fourth.
John Axford, Chris Smith and Carlos Villanueva followed Bush to the mound. Axford allowed a run on two hits in the seventh, Smith worked a perfect eighth and Villanueva closed out the win with a perfect ninth.

although
if you have a TWSS/TWHS blocking filter installed, you might conclude that the game scored more posts.

I don't know if it's fair to call it the "SS/Mcdonalds thread"
Because an awful lot of the comments were about today’s “mystery transaction,”

speaking of which
when will said announcement take place?

51 comments about the mystery transaction
in that sub-thread (not including stray reply-fail types or the Gamel is Macha/Melvin’s fault conversatin)
47 McDonalds (again, excluding reply-fails from below…but including TWSSs)
so, yeah…slightly more for mystery transaction.

Anyone feel like Fire Macha doesn't have the same flavor as Fire Yost?
“Fire Yost” just like rolled off your tongue.

Can Ken
Q: Did you ever scout Corey Hart? What seems to be holding him back from being a good hitter for AVG?
A: The slider away. And that facial hair.

I am outraged!
When there is a scuffle in Ireland, there’s no need to specifically mention in the news story that alcohol was involved

I can't wait to see what notkenmacha will say about that.

The more I think about it
Ken Macha must think John Axford is someone you don’t want to mess with. After all, the dude has “Ax” in his name.

He seems to be very high on him
Think he has future closer potential, so I guess that speaks a lot about it. Still seemed like a lot of hubbub over nothing. I think it’s about time to announce Bush as..whoa, excuse me, I mean announce WHO will be the #4 starter is.

Maybe his quote was taken out of context
and it was regarding Schoeneweis?
BTW – It wasn’t from TH, but AW… which now makes me believe that Macha’s quote wasn’t used correctly.
Same here
I wished I would have realized it was Witrado who wrote the story. I’m going to assume the quote was taken out of context.
Get a ife broseph
Yeah, that's my theory now too.
“Yeah, Schoeneweis was pretty upset. Well, someone else is going to be upset after the game.”

Sorry, should have specified.
That’s not an actual quote – just what I’m thinking he meant.

So I had a crazy busy day today
And happened to miss the most insane non-big event BCB commenting day ever. You guys (and gals) crack me up.
You're not the only one who missed it.
Can’t wait for real game threads.
