Oh yes, it's Player A vs. Player B

This one could be a little tricky.

* PLAYER A: .336 OBP, .416 SLG, .752 OPS, 13 HR, 10 SB, -2 UZR, 1.7 WAR

* PLAYER B: .342 OBP, .452 SLG, .795 OPS, 24 HR, 7 SB, 10.3 UZR, 4.3 WAR

One of the two is correct

A hint: Player B made $10 million in 2009, Player A made $1.4 million.

A is Melky Cabrera.

And B is Cam.

BUT WHY, JIM, WHY?

I feel obligated post this

Player C – 145 IP, 105 K/40 BB 4.15 ERA in AAA. Salary – $4M last year, $4M this year.

Whew, makes me feel better.

An $4M next year

Mike Cameron is really good at baseball?

That’s really the only one I see.

E: George 4 (5, throw, throw, throw, throw).

Jeez

I wasn’t going for depth - it’s just a FanPost, for ol Pete’s sake.

Since this trade came within an inch of happening, I wanted to see how the two compared.

Setting aside Igawa for a moment, as well as the results of the 2009 season, would you have made a Melky/Cameron swap last season if you would have gotten these results?

Not purely for last season.

Unless we were certain that the money saved would have gone directly toward a pitcher.

by NoahJ on Mar 5, 2010 2:25 PM CST up reply actions

No way!

Then we wouldn’t have Carlos Gomez.

Ryan Braun: He loves it.

by SRB on Mar 5, 2010 2:50 PM CST up reply actions

Oh I was being sarcastic, I think it was a very interesting comparison

Usually when you do these they do have some deep meaning. You’ve fooled us again.

E: George 4 (5, throw, throw, throw, throw).

Ahhh, depth is overrated.

Unless Ben Sheets is on your pitching staff. Hey-o!

or

you are diving into a pool.

Q: Did you ever scout Corey Hart? What seems to be holding him back from being a good hitter for AVG?

A: The slider away. And that facial hair.

That depends...

Cabrera, Arodys Vizcaino and Mike Dunn netted Javier Vazquez and Boone Logan from Atlanta.

"If we want to sign a Type A free agent, we would lose a second-round pick, but we don't have a way to get picks back. Our whole Draft process needs to be redone."

I'd guess that if you set aside Igawa

There is a pretty good chance the Brewers would have made this deal.
