Around SBN: Bracketology 2012: Duke Finally Steps Up To The No. 1 Line

Brewers 6, Mariners 2

W: Manny Parra
L: Doug Fister

HR: Corey Hart

The Crew once again got off to a quick start offensively with and RBI from Ryan Braun and two from Prince Fielder in the first. Casey McGehee doubled in Fielder to make it 4-0 in the third and Corey Hart added another run with a solo homer in the fith. Craig Counsell grounded out in the seventh to score Steffan Wilson and complete the scoring.

The Brewers pitchers certainly did their part too. Manny Parra started and pitched three shutout innings while allowing four hits and a walk. Dave Bush followed up with 2.2 innings of his own, allowing one run on four hits. Todd Coffey and LaTroy Hawkins also each pitched a scoreless inning. Carlos Villanueva pitched the final inning and allowed a run.

Mat Gamel left the game after only one AB with shoulder soreness and is listed as day-to-day.

Here's hoping the Mariners are more successful in the nightcap

Did I mention that the Braunophile’s first Little League game of the season is tonight? And his team this year is the Mariners?

Hard to earn a spot if you can’t play.

Spring Training win rules

Most effective? Pitcher at the time the team gets the lead for the last time? Parra certainly didn’t go 5, nor should he:P

Every pitcher is treated like a reliever

Whoever is pitching when the team gets the lead gets the win.

You're right!

Spring Training wins do rule!

Good Manny!!!

YAY for GOOD MANNY!!! Ok so his whip isn’t anything to write home about but hey he got the job done without giving up 14 runs. A pretty solid start for him.
