It's time, finally, for baseball in Wisconsin.
We're down to two games before they start counting, and the first one is at 7:10 tonight as the Brewers host the Tigers in exhibition action.
Follow the jump for tonight's pitching matchup and conversation on tonight's game!
Doug Davis (1-1, 5.40 this spring, 9-14, 4.12 last season) gets the start tonight. Since the Tigers are an AL and a Grapefruit League team, he hasn't faced them since 2006, when he pitched seven scoreless innings in a no-decision. Davis has allowed a lot of baserunners over the course of his career, and this spring has been no exception: He's allowed 21 hits and eight walks in 16.2 IP, good for a 1.74 WHIP.
For the Tigers, 25 year old Max Scherzer (1-1, 7.15 this spring, 9-11, 4.12 last season) will take the mound. Like Davis, he's had a hard time keeping runners off the bases this spring, allowing 15 hits and five walks in 11.1 IP. He gets more strikeouts than Davis, though: 9.2 per nine innings last season and roughly a strikeout per inning this spring.
I'll be honest - I scheduled this in advance and I'm on a flight to Vegas right now. So I don't have the lineup. If you do, post it in the comments so others can see it.
Enjoy the game!
