why is that a "top performer"
does that mean the rest of the pitchers were complete rubbish? Or was it just added to that section manually because you thought we’d be curious?
4 ERs and 5 Rs in 2 innings? yikes

I wouldn't read too much into those stats.
I'm not arguing, I'm just offering a relentlessly contrarian point of view.
And Capuano's minor league numbers scare me.

Little of both
I’m afraid people are going to look at those stats and think he can duplicate it at the major league level, and be disappointed when he doesn’t. Obviously I hope he can, but if people look at the guy as some sort of rotation savior, I think they’re setting themselves up for disappointment and putting a lot of pressure on a guy who hasn’t had any in a few years.

Chris of Nazareth?
dammit…why couldn’t that band have had a member named Chris just for this particular post?

Capuano wouldn't have to be all that good to be a saviour to this pitching staff
Ryan Braun: He loves it.
but he'd have to be pretty good
to meet some peoples unreasonable expectations.

I think reading
bad low level minor league stats says more than what you read into good minor league stats.
Really? Care to share the logic?

If you can't fool the kids with your pitches,
how are you going to make it in the big leagues again? It’s a small sample size though-I’m hoping it was just one of those bad games.
Well, when you're rehabbing,
you’re not necessarily trying to get batters out. You might be working on location, or on a specific pitch, both of which are probably going to get rocked, A-ballers can crush any one when they know what’s coming or where it’s going. Not sure if that’s what Riske was doing, but, it’s possible.

In addition
Defense in the low levels is usually pretty bad, meaning innings can get extended and balls that would normally become outs become hits. This obviously applies to all pitchers, not just those on rehab.
Riske allowed 6 singles and 1 double. 6 of the 7 hits were ground balls. Just another reason to not look into it too much.
Get a ife broseph
Didn’t Suppan use this reasoning too for not being able to get A ball hitters out when he was in Appleton?

I don’t remember seeing any comments, but it wouldn’t have been out of line if he did, nor would I be surprised if he treated his rehab start as an opportunity to work on pitches, hit spots…etc.
Get a ife broseph
I know I just like to ocasianally jab people saying that they sound like Suppan :)
