Mark Rogers

Any change Mark sees some time in the Majors this year? Or are they going to keep him down all year in preparation for next year?

Matty GamGam

Gamel’s putting it together, hopefully he can keep it up in AAA.

I wonder if he was taking reps at 1B or outfield while he was at Extended Spring Training. I’d imagine they can’t really have him take reps in the public eye, because it would be like telling the world that Prince will be traded.

But they already announced he would, then, well, he never did.

Which means, imo, that they think Princes value will be higher next year (or at least this offseason)

Shruggity.

When he first started rehab

they said he’d be getting some time at first to not “steal AB’s” from the third baseman. (apparently they hate the first baseman)

Not a full time switch, but a pretty stupid thing to say. Doesn’t appear it actually happened, though. Maybe that was just while he was at BC, and since he wasn’t there that long, it didn’t come up.

Shruggity.

That was such an odd quote

Now Green and Lawrie seem to be rotating at 2B while Gamel is on the team playing 3B. They have to move him and Cain to Nashville pretty soon I’d think.

Salome has been on the Huntsville roster for 2 days but hasn’t gotten an AB. Not sure what is going on there.

Probably true

There is also a chance he isn’t with the team yet as he hasn’t pinch hit yet either.

I wonder...

was he moved from the inactive list because he had already spent the maximum possible days on that list, rather than because he had reported back to camp? Is he now officially AWOL?

by PagsBrewCrew on Jun 3, 2010 10:23 AM CDT up reply actions

Don't think so

Its my understanding that Salome was on the restricted list, which a player can be on for up to 2 years — usually done for drug related suspensions or when a player quits and the team wants to retain their rights (like Brent Brewer), so I don’t think that is an issue.

Even if he was on the inactive list, he could have been activated and sent to extended spring training and not taken up a roster spot.

I might be wrong on all of the above, so I apologize in advance.

I was wondering if he was given a couple days off between his spot in Arizona and the Huntsville assignment.

Nashville= place to store AAAA players and a couple prospects that might be MLB ready
Huntsville=place to put real prospects.

Lorenzo is ready.

I wonder if we could get a pitcher who can throw harder than 85mph for him or GoGo.
