Announcing the Brew Crew Ball Trade Deadline Primer
I wanted to take a moment this morning to mention a project I've been proud to add my (and this site's) name to over the last few weeks: The Brew Crew Ball Trade Deadline Primer.
Over the coming weeks, we'll consider countless trade scenarios and possibilities as we approach the trade deadline. This book is a great one-stop resource for thoughts on hundreds of players that could be on the move this season, featuring the insights and knowledge of many of the best and brightest writers covering every major league team.
The Brew Crew Ball Primer focuses primarily on the Brewers and their NL Central rivals, but also includes notes on every major league team, and every player that might be changing hands this trade season.
All told, there are over 180 pages in the book, which sells for $9.95. Go get your copy today!

It's not full press credentials, but it's great news!
I just ordered it and had the download link within seconds. My company’s print center has a liberal policy with regard to personal copying – they figure everyone would just do it on the individual floor printers anyway so the central copy center prints and (ring) binds documents within reason. It’s cheaper and everyone’s happy. I’ll try to post a pic of my bound copy if all goes well.
I’ve skimmed it and it’s more than just a list of players. I’m fortunate enough to have a job and unfortunate enough to have to get there before I can give this the attention it deserves.
- Summaries of what every other team is looking to do at the deadline, including how it could help your fantasy team
Sounds like your favorite part, Kyle!

Sadly, I wasn't allowed to devote the whole section to the fact that no one cares about your fantasy team.
Maybe next year. :-)
Now that's great tasting chicken!

So will it be free after the trade deadline?

There's so much more info in here than just trade deadline
A large amount of this info will be useful for the offseason trading picture, too. I’d say it’s at it’s peak usefulness for this trade deadline, but will still be plenty useful through the winter meetings.
Self-publishing in the 21st century
The Trade Deadline Primer is available in eBook format. I chose to have my printed and bound (as described above). Here’s a preview of what you’ll be getting! Kyle, let me know if I should take these down, or simply delete the comment.

Individual team write-ups:

There’s also an entire section with one paragraph on every team’s top prospects. I’ve only had the time to skim it, but from what I’ve seen it looks fantastic. I’m looking forward to paging through it in more detail this weekend.
This looks great!
Thanks for purchasing, printing and sharing.

kyle
it’s good to see you schilling for yourself. Congrats on your book
"That's not a weird stat. Rickie is a run-scorer," Yost said. "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter," Yost told reporters. "See, you guys have no concept. He's a run-scorer. So there's nothing weird about it. That's what he does."
Thanks Hyatt!
I do my best not to over-promote, but I think this turned into a really cool project.

Congrats Kyle
Kyle, you did a tremendous job on all the Brewers stuff. Not only the Team Summary and the Essay and the Report Cards, but contributing Brewers information in terms of Tradable Players, and potential Impact Prospects. Believe me, I know how much work it was to put together, but it’s something you should be proud of. I know we are.
By the way, ecocd, that is the coolest thing you did there, putting it into a binder!! It looks great like that.
One thing I would like to mention is, for those of you who are not certain you would want to buy a copy, or would just like to see what it is all about, you can get a FREE SAMPLE by going to www.TwinsCentric.com.
Odd product
I certainly think an off-season summary/report/preview is a worthwhile idea.
What is curious is that so little actually gets done at the trade deadline, that it becomes a lot of effort by the creators with little obvious payoff.
When you look at things like NFL draft previews or season previews, it makes sense, but I would have never thought there is a market for a trade deadline product given that so few teams actually do anything at the trade deadline, and those that do are typically minor moves.
Interesting.
Awesome
180 pages… I’m assuming that’s a one page introduction followed by 179 pages covering every angle of the Matt Cain/Prince Fielder Trade™, right?
(In all seriousness, congratulations! Looks like the culmination of a lot of work.)
Ryan Braun: He loves it.
