doh! should have checked the "someone else" box
any trade involving hart or anyone else is likely to involve a throw in minor/AAAA leaguer on both sides.
Alternate title...
“Over Half of BCB Tracking Poll Voters Still Have Faith in Manny Parra”
I guess it depends if you’re a “half empty” or “half full” kind of person.
Anyway, this poll went out before the last two games… I wonder how the results would be if taken today.

This poll was closed before last night.
I don’t think the results for that question would’ve been much different than before.
Pujols is the Barack Obama of baseball.
probably more than half would be content with parra getting the boot however
it’s just in some circumstances, someone feels that someone else deserves getting bumped.
the fact that he had about double the votes of the closest competitor and 4 times as much as 2 away means people think he should be removed.

I supported Manny Parra stubbornly for the past 2 years
I officially gave up on him. I can’t take it anymore.

Would it really be worth it to give up on Manny at this point?
We aren’t going anywhere this year and he isn’t blocking anyone. Answer, NO.
All is vanity.

Question about method
Just spitballin’ here:
Would it make more sense for next year, to have a group of, say 100 or 150 members of this site always vote in this poll, and not leave it open to the public? While the results are interesting as they are, there isn’t really much of a control if anyone can drop by. For example, I’ve missed voting a couple of times. If 7 or 8 other people who usually vote the way I do miss the voting cut off for some reason or another, it could artificially change the results for that week.
I know this isn’t a big scientific study, just throwing it out there.

meh
Gallop polls about the president don’t keep asking them same people. It’s good to resample the population, but you’re correct, you can’t say difinitively that a trend of +/- 5% isn’t caused by some local sampling bias. But overall trends as the season goes can typically be trusted (unless you’re suspecting an influx of cubs/cards fans over time that are deliberately rigging the vote and are being more effective at doing so as time goes on).
