Hart to swing for the fences
Corey Hart will be the next in line to ruin his swing in the up-coming HR derby at the ASG.

He isn't a candidate to hit the tape measure blasts
Maybe he can set the record for most HR barely over the fence.
Still, I’m glad to have a horse in the race. The thing is even more boring when there isn’t a guy I can cheer for. That said, I still intend to TiVo it and watch it in fast forward.
The Brewers have had a representative every year since 2007.
2007 – Prince
2008 – Braun
2009 – Prince (winner)
2010- Hart

Dear Corey Hart:
You trying to hit home runs is stupid. Do we really need to hear all the names that Berman can come up with for that thing on your arm? Also, if you weren’t aware, this years HRD is broadcast in 3D. You scare enough children in 2D, do we really want to subject the nation to Corey Hart’s freakish beard-thing coming out of the screen at them? I don’t think so.
Shruggity.

I think you meant to say
those things on your arms. And hands.
But despite my mild disappointment in Corey’s tats, I (like Jeo) am pleased to see Corey in the derby.
Stop the madness! Stop the losing!
Don't worry
there’s like 4 people who don’t work in Connecticut that have ESPN 3D at this point. I don’t know that 3D is a major factor. :)

Aparently
I am the only one who is happy to see this. In a dark Brewer season it is a chance for a brewer to win something.
How are you the only one happy to see this?
all but my post were relatively positive. Also, I’m not even sure if mine was sarcastic or not.
Shruggity.
I am confused if this is not sarcasm
You trying to hit home runs is stupid.
just seemed like you weren’t really pleased.
My sarcasm detector could be broken.

It is stupid
because he’s not really a home run hitter.
It’ll be fun to see him, I don’t anticipate him making it out of the first round, and hope he doesn’t alter his swing trying to win the stupid thing.
Shruggity.
We swept the Twins
That will be our highlight of the season
Oh yeah...
I guess I’m part of the cool crew now…I’ve been published on the front page. :)

There's no real effect of the home run derby on production in the second half of the season
If there’s some dropoff in power collectively, it’s to be expected. If you take the top 10 in homers in a given year and then see how many homers they hit collectively the next year, it’s almost certainly going to be less. It’s regression. Players are in the derby because they’ve had a good half a season.

EXACTLY
players use the home run derby as an excuse when their second half is worse than their first. If your swing can be screwed up by 20 BP swings, you’ve got quite a touchy swing.
I’m not worried about Hart screwing up his swing with the home run derby and having a bad second half. I’m worried about him having a bad second half and blaming it on the home run derby.
