I hope Dave Matthews and Willie Nelson play together and bring Davey Nelson on stage as a special guest.

Wow Dave Matthews Band?
The quality of Farm Aid has really declined lately.

Clearly
What person will readily admit to wanting to watch Wilie Nelson play stoned for half an hour? I’d rather see Dave do the same thing with way more intensity.
I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.
If by 'intensity'
you mean ‘thinly veiled self-righteous scorn’, then I can see where you’re coming from.
Dave Matthews Band is the “jam band” America can agree on! Their motto should be “selling bumper stickers to high schoolers and college freshman for 15 years!”

Which just goes to show the sad state of music.
Dave Matthews Band is terrible.

Well, an opinion is an opinion but...
In the last decade, dave matthews band had the highest grossing concerts, valued at around $500 million. In other words, a lot of people would think your opinion to be crap.
In this day and age, it’s actually quite impressive to see a band write and play their own music for just under 20 years. They also must be doing something right because there aren’t any bands with their success who feature a saxophone and a fiddle.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band would argue this point, heartily

Perhaps you meant to
But there may have been a typo.
Maybe he should play first base instead. That is, he should lie out there and we can step on him when we get a hit.
Exactly
They have an interesting perspective on the world, and the way one song can differ between the studio album and a performance is just amazing.
IMO, they are a lot more than a stoner/hippie band.
I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.
I would be repulsed if anyone who is a fan of Dave Matthews Band referred to themselves as a hippie
or a stoner.
I’d peg their fanbase more of an Adderall or Oxycontin using base.

I guess it was more of a sweeping cultural generalization
While the ‘hippie’ generation was known for marijuana and LSD, the current generation is known more as pillheads and speed freaks.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve known some people that go to the barber shop to get some dread locks glued into their hair before ‘the Dave show’. Which I think is deliciously ironic.

I think that's just a sweeping generalization in general
I consider myself a hippie – I don’t do drugs and I look like the average person. Terms do change meanings over time.
I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.
Yes, a generalization
I suppose we agree to disagree on all the rest

are you into free love (with everyone)
purchase natural hemp fiber clothing/bags?
just liking the environment doesn’t make you a hippie. Nor eating exclusively organic produce.

Yeah its hard to take a subculture and say that the definition of it has 'changed'
If that’s the case, I’m a beatnik because I like to smoke.

FYI
Kenny Chesney, Jeff Tweedy, Norah Jones, Jason Mraz, Band of Horses, the BoDeans, Amos Lee and Robert Francis are joining the lineup.

okay...now Norah Jones (and sadly Kenny Chesney) are the big draws
Amos Lee’s pretty good. And Tweedy has good history. They all outdo Nelson and DMB.

Band of Horses is a very, very good band.

Jack Johnson needs to join too
It’ll be just like “The Mellow Show”… except with the actual performers playing themselves.
