One more inning.

Should have let him go out there, he’ll never get that close to a no-hitter ever again.

Never is a long time

Maybe he should play first base instead. That is, he should lie out there and we can step on him when we get a hit.

When does Odorizzi pitch next?

I’m looking to go to a TRats game next week, and wouldn’t mind watching him pitch? Is there a way to see minor league expected starters?

Odorizzi

Do he start next year @ AA or do they only send him to Brevard County?

by Saberilliterate on Aug 25, 2010 9:39 AM CDT reply actions

Most likely...

High school arm + Friendly pitching environment = a trip to High-A

by jrfischer on Aug 25, 2010 11:23 AM CDT up reply actions

Yeah, and then he'll start 2012 in AAA.

If things go well, they’ll wait long enough to delay his FA by a year, and bring him up in early June.

Sound about right?

Something like that

The front office almost looks at AA and AAA as similar levels of competition these days, so it wouldn’t be shocked to see him start 2012 at AA with a quick bump up with success, but neither would be surprising.

E: George 4 (5, throw, throw, throw, throw).

They could go the Yo track with him

13 starts at A+, then if he does well enough…

13 starts at AA, then if continues to do well there…

Start 2012 in AAA.

It's crazy how much Odorizzi reminds me of Gallardo

And I fully expect that track. They both were well-regarded out of high school but not extremely high picks, mainly because they lacked the extreme top-end velocity of a lot of highly picked high school pitchers. That low 90s fastball velocity and great off speed stuff, and the track they have him on (and similar success through the same point in their careers). It’s exciting.

E: George 4 (5, throw, throw, throw, throw).

Did Gallardo ever break a metal bat?

Maybe he should play first base instead. That is, he should lie out there and we can step on him when we get a hit.
