Someone check the visitors' clubhouse in Cincinnati. The Brewers might have left their bats there.
It took the Brewers six innings to get a runner to second base tonight as Cole Hamels, Jose Contreras and Ryan Madson shut out for the Brewers for the first time since July. The Crew managed just three hits, all singles, and three walks.
Chris Capuano was good for five innings tonight, allowing a lone run (that should not have been earned) on four hits in five innings, walking two and striking out four. He threw 80 pitches, and had a runner in scoring position with less than two outs in three of his five innings. Kameron Loe and John Axford combined to pitch three scoreless innings in relief.
This was the Brewers' eleventh shutout loss of the season, and their first 1-0 loss since July 1, 2009, when they were shut out by Johan Santana and the Mets.

I assume someone is reminding Lorenzo Cain the CF is the QB of the outfield
Maybe he should play first base instead. That is, he should lie out there and we can step on him when we get a hit.
I'd guess someone is making sure he knows that everything he can reach, he should take.
Now that's great tasting chicken!

After Colorado gave up 12 to the Phils last night
I’m satisfied with only giving up 1. At this point in the season where victories only hinder your draft status, it’s the small victories that keep you watching. Don’t know if I like Ax’s drop in velocity, tho. What’s up with that?

Ax didn't pitch for a while
since he didn’t pitch for a while it makes sense that his velocity should drop

This is the first time all season he hasnt thrown above 93....
He usually is sitting at least 95 by the end of the inning…those 91mph fastballs worry me :/
I only watch the games for Taiilgate Tips.
Maybe Chris Capuano and Jeff Suppan can give him
can give him some pitching tips

He's been having some control issues lately
Maybe he’s taking a little off the fastball to get better control. It also seemed like there was more movement on this fastball… could be that he was throwing 2-seamers.

Way to go Kyle!
The picture of Gorman is great. I was thinking that your headline might be “Brewers take a bath” but you didn’t torture the metaphor like I would have …
