Hello my BCB friends. It's your light-posting member from San Diego. I just wanted to take a moment to share with you my personal story of Game 5 on Friday night.
As noted, I live in San Diego, but of course was born and raised in Wisconsin, and am still a die-hard Brewers fan. I attended both games the Crew played at PETCO Park this season, and figured that was likely to be it for me as far as live Brewers games go. After the dual-debacle in the desert, I get a call from my brother in Madison at 10:55 am Thursday, and he asks what I'm doing for the game. I muttered something about going to a bar, and he invites me to go with him and our oldest brother, who happened to have 4 tickets. A quick search of Southwest.com netted me a roundtrip flight for $200, an exchange with my ex relieved me of Daddy duty on Friday, and a text to my buddy in Milwaukee got me a pick-up at Mitchell at midnight and a couch to crash on that night.
I don't need to tell you about the game, because all of you saw it and many of you were likely there among the 44,028 in attendance. Due to my living in California for the last 15 years, this was only my third game EVER at Miller Park, and no doubt is going to be the one I remember most as the years pass. I even collected some of the confetti for my Brewers memorabilia collection on my way out of the stadium.
An exciting walk-off win to clinch a postseason series and some of the nicest weather I have ever experienced in Wisconsin in October equals the best weekend in recent memory for me!
Go Brewers! I'll be cheering you on from San Diego from here on out, just as I have been all season....
