Lets get to this Cards bullpen
should be a peice of cake to score compared to Carpenter. Even if he doesn’t have his good stuff
so...
how did Fox create a show called The X Factor without it involving David Eckstein being hit by pitches? I assumed that’s why he wasn’t playing anymore.

So instead of cleaning the horsehit from near the track, they raced hamsters instead?

Lucroy is getting the down and away call
He’s expanded the zone an inch or two. I wonder if Molina has been getting that pitch.

I'm in the same camp.
Felt like it could’ve been way worse in the 1st, and they’ve been just shy of breaking it open a couple times.

I have thought they needed to break it open at those times
but we’re still right in it.
I meant the Brewers when I wrote "they" there.
“breaking it open” was probably an overstatement, but it’s sorta felt like that to me.

Hello, Mr. LaRussa
Look at your bullpen, then back at mine, now back to your bullpen, now back – to mine.
Sadly, yours isn’t mine.
But if they stopped throwing like a bunch of girls and got some talent, they could pitch like mine.
Look down – back up – where are we?
You’re in the Brewer bullpen, with the relief pitchers your pitchers could pitch like, if they didn’t suck.
What’s in your hand? Back at me.
It’s two tickets to the World Series.
Look again – the tickets are in my hand, because I’m going and you’re not, because your bullpen stinks.
Anything is possible when you have K-Rod and Axford in your bullpen.

No HR though, so I guess that's progress for the starting staff.
"We’re here to win, man. All that fighting stuff, that’s for the birds." - Prince Fielder
But the misplayed ball by Hart led to a run
and Kotsay’s poor range led to a run. Had Morgan or Gomez been in center, that ball would have been caught.
That’s stuff that doesn’t appear on the stat line, and those two hits and earned runs are on the defense.

I don't want to have a knock-down drag-out here with you

Also, 4 runs should be nothing to this offense.

They are now way ahead of the Cubs for the team I hate the most in baseball, and also top the list for the team I hate the most in all of sports. I would rather see the Cubs or Yankees win.

These hitters should be ashamed of themselves.
There’s no way they should have been held to 3 runs in this game. Bad lineup decisions or not, they left a bunch of runs on the field with impatient, lousy approaches. Just ridiculous.

1 run should have scored in the first
1. Rafael Furcal singles on a sharp ground ball to center fielder Mark Kotsay.
KOTSAY (should have been 1 out) 2.Jon Jay doubles (2) on a fly ball to left fielder Ryan Braun. Rafael Furcal scores.
3.Albert Pujols hits a ground-rule double (4) on a fly ball to left-center field. Jon Jay scores.
4.Matt Holliday walks.
5.Lance Berkman walks. Albert Pujols to 3rd. Matt Holliday to 2nd.
(Should have been 3 outs) 6.Yadier Molina grounds into double play, second baseman Rickie Weeks to shortstop Yuniesky Betancourt to first baseman Prince Fielder. Albert Pujols scores. Matt Holliday to 3rd. Lance Berkman out at 2nd.
7.David Freese doubles (1) on a fly ball to right fielder Corey Hart. Matt Holliday scores.
8.Yovani Gallardo intentionally walks Nick Punto.
9.Chris Carpenter grounds out, second baseman Rickie Weeks to first baseman Prince Fielder.
I have no concept.
Not tonight they didn't
Prince hitting into two DP’s. Ryan not producing on the clutch. Same for Rickie. Lousy outfield play. Yo with one crap inning and the rest of the team couldn’t recover.
Oh well tomorrow is another day and the Brewers can still win this series. They need to remember how to play the game, and yes, that includes the manager.
