Stat Of The Night: Putting 2011 In Perspective
Tonight it's hard to do, but I think over time the pain of losing this game and this series will be less fresh and we'll be able to step back and recognize that the 2011 season was probably the second best in Brewer history.
If nothing else, here's a quick table illustrating that point:
| Season | Playoff Games |
| 1982 | 12 |
| 2011 | 11 |
| 1981 | 5 |
| 2008 | 4 |
| 39 Other Seasons | 0 |
As I wrote in tonight's recap, the way the season ended is a blemish on this team's accomplishments that will never fully heal. But that doesn't change the fact that this team was one of the most talented, exciting and entertaining units we've ever seen.

If they had lost to anyone other than the shit Cardinal team it would not linger
Now we get to join the Phillies on the sideline wondering “How the hell did we lose a series to that team” This hurts as bad as the Packers losing to a Shit Denver team in SB32. If you lose the NLCS to the Phillies you could stomach that. But the Cardinals Fuck Me.
In the end you have to wonder what happens if Marcum does not start, Yes Narverson was shit but as Fringe has taught me one little change in the time line can change a whole series of outcomes
Lets go Rangers

Shit Cardinal Team?
The Cardinals won 90 games despite: losing their ace before the season started; losing Freese for 70 games; blowing 19 leads after the 8th inning; and absorbing a handful of other major injuries. You might hate them, you might think they’re a bunch of complainers, but to say they’re shit is just dumb. There is probably no lineup in baseball with as much talent.
What kind of a total loser spends his time after his favorite team clinches a World Series berth trolling other teams' blogs?
Oh hey, there’s one!
"We’re here to win, man. All that fighting stuff, that’s for the birds." - Prince Fielder
The kind of loser...
Whose baseball team has been the playoffs 10 times since he was old enough to care and to the World Series 7 times. The WS doesn’t make the world stop turning, I can still have opinions and react when people say ridiculous things.
Really?
There is probably no lineup in baseball with as much talent.
Did you really just say that? The Yankees pay a shit ton of money, but they have more talent.
I hate Yuni.

When I said lineup...
I meant offensive production. And while the Yankees have an astronomical payroll, I’m not sure that means they have better bats all-around.
Awwww I was about to link to the team batting stats....
meh I’ll live

Perspective
It was certainly one of the greatest seasons in Brewers history. The frustrating part is thinking that we might have to wait another 30 years to have a shot like this again.
