Brewers 3, Diamondbacks 2: Tonight's Turning Points
It still hasn't sunk in yet for me. Hopefully reliving these moments will help me catch up.
1) Nyjer Morgan's tenth inning single: +.305 WPA (Video)
In the Brewers' first time up in extra innings, Carlos Gomez singled to left with one out and stole second base. That created an opportunity for Nyjer Morgan, who singled through the middle to drive home the winning run in a series-clinching walkoff victory.
2) Gerardo Parra's ninth inning double: -.198 WPA
The Brewers' late inning plans were quickly derailed in the ninth inning, and Gerardo Parra started the carnage with his first hit of the series, a first pitch double to right center.
3) Sean Burroughs' ninth inning single: -.194 WPA
Burroughs was the next hitter to come up with none out in the ninth, and his single to left gave the Diamondbacks two on with none out in the inning.
4t) Yuniesky Betancourt's sixth inning single: +.175 WPA (Video)
The first two Brewers to bat in the sixth reached, but the next two failed to advance them, leaving Yuni as the Brewers' last hope in the inning. His bloop single to left plated Ryan Braun and gave the Brewers a 2-1 lead.
4t) Ryan Roberts grounds out to end the eighth: +.175 WPA (Video)
Even before giving up the tying run in the ninth, the Brewers were in real trouble in the eighth: The Diamondbacks had runners on first and third with one out after a walk and single, but Francisco Rodriguez struck out Paul Goldschmidt and got Ryan Roberts to ground out to end the threat.

Plush K Rod Go Go Yuni and Braun came up big in the clutch
Yo was great all night
He’s always open. He catches a lot of balls. He’s un-guardable, no matter how old he is

I had to work tonight, so I missed a good portion of the game, including the winning single by Morgan
I just watched the video highlight. Tears in my eyes. I guess I didn’t realize how much it means to me.
What a great season, what a great team, I can’t wait until Sunday!

I had to leave my apt before Lucroy's AB
In the bottom of the 9th to hop in a car with my gf and race to the airport to catch a plane to her parents for the weekend.
I fired up Ueck while driving but my phone was only pulling Edge speeds so it was the most garbled intermittent radio broadcast ever. As I turned onto La Brea, Ueck got really excited but I couldn’t understand anything, and then heard a mangled “Brewers Win”.
I refreshed At Bat as fast as my shitty data signal would allow, and saw the 3-2 score. Then I lost my shit, screaming in traffic, tears on my cheeks.
Football is my first love, but I have NEVER felt like I did this evening in my entire life from sports.
Can’t wait for Sunday. Hope it stops raining here in Albuquerque so we can see this hot air balloon festival properly.

The tar pits are your good luck charm
Brewers:
2011 NL Central Champs!
National League #2 Seed
Franchise record for wins
What a season it has been so far
I can’t wait to get after the angry birdies tomorrow.
Brewers:

Yuni
Also made a nice play on the grounder up the middle that ended the 9th, just barely beating Justin Upton to 2nd. For all his faults, he came through tonight. Gomez too.
C. Magruder scored, R. Weeks to second on balk
WPA, I love you, and I know you are good for measuring moments in a baseball game...
But…
1) Nyjer Morgan’s tenth inning single: +.305 WPA
There is no value you can assign to winning a game like this. Sorry, I think we better just go our separate ways.

Was at this game, and I've gotta say
You’ve got some classy fans, and some great fans to chat with during a phenomenal baseball game. Great series, great night, and go kick St. Louis’ ass.

Except that
I have friends at school with me who are STL fans and I have no ill will towards the Cards whatsoever…
So, just keep playing great, immensely-watchable baseball games. :-)

Now that it all worked out in the end...
I feel obligated to point something out about the Rickie Weeks bunt. He had been hit by a pitch in his previous plate appearance, and Rickie was 0-3 in the 2011 regular season in the plate appearance following an HBP. (while 5 of his 8 HBPs occurred in his final plate appearance of the game). Last year, he was 2-15 with 1 walk in plate appearances following an HBP, but those two hits were both home runs.

Radio
Does anyone know where I can find the Uecker’s call (assumin it was ueck)? I’ve watched the highlight a million times, I want to hear Bob!

Bob was ultra sweet to listen to
I don’t know where to find a co py of the cast though, I listen on 1310 Madison. I was pacing for hours, something I surely would not have done watching the TV.
I knew the role players were going to have a role in deciding the series. I thought Hairston and Weeks were top breakout candidates. Turned out it was Yuni Gomez and Jermo. I thought Counsell might be due in his at bat and I hoped McG would do something.
What great drama. Kennedy pitched a great game, and the reliever before putz was tough.
They scratched and clawed and battled. They earned that celebration after the game, excessive or not. This is a thrilling moment for the franchise and its fans and the entire state.
Saito Lights OUT—everyone else just hung tough
I know nobody would agree with me, but I’d put Saito in place of KROD
I heard Ueck's call too
I was still at work in California, and my office doesn’t have cable TV, so I had to rely on MLB radio to hear Ueck’s call. Only Brewer fan in the office, so everyone was laughing at my mood swings, but I got high fives from everyone when I ran victory laps around the office after T-Plush’s hit. What an amazing finish.
