Cardinals Beat Phillies 1-0, Brewers Will Host NLCS Game 1 Sunday

Stay connected for news and updates

Chris Carpenter pitched a complete game, three hit shutout tonight in Game 5 of the NLDS as the Cardinals beat the Phillies 1-0 to continue their improbable playoff run.

With the Phillies eliminated, the Brewers will have home field advantage in the NLCS. They'll open the series at Miller Park on Sunday afternoon at 3 with Zack Greinke on the mound. The Cardinals haven't announced a starter yet.

Since the NL won the All Star Game, the Brewers would also have home field advantage in the World Series if they reach it.
