Cubs Offer Managing Job to Dale Sveum
Sveum is, of course, likely to accept.

I wonder if Sveum will lure Prince to Chicago.
I am too drunk to taste this chicken.

Does Dale Sveum have $200 million?

I don't think Theo wants to spend for either Albert or Prince.
If I’m correct, it won’t matter how much luring Dale can do.
I could see them going after Prince. not Pujols though. He's too old for the length of contract it's going to take to get either one of those guys.
I have no concept.
Theo's done everything aside from flat out saying, "I'm not spending on a big free agent this season"
to prepare people for a long-term rebuild, and to temper expectations for 2012.
I really hope the Milwaukee organization doesn't regret passing him over... twice.
I have no concept.
Based on the tracking polls here
a decent amount of people either didn’t think he was doing a good job, or couldn’t decide what kind of a job he was doing as hitting coach.

I still don't get the over obsession of the show
Even after watching the whole series, I don’t get it. There’s nothing that really sets it apart from other comedies.

Thanks. I'm ashamed.
But it’s been a while since I watched it, and it’s kind of hard to recognize who it is from that angle. Background is pretty generic too.

Am I missing something here?
The Red Sox job seems like it would be better than the Cubs job, and he’s rumored to be the top candidate for that job. Why go for the tire fire that is the Cubs?

Apparently he preferred the Cubs job all along.
And after their last meeting, the Red Sox seemed to have cooled on him. Perhaps in part because he told them he wanted the Cubs job and was likely to be offered it.

More money? Closer to home (does he live in Milwaukee?)
And perhaps there’s a comfortability with Epstein
I was disappointed with the lack of hookers but the pancakes were delightful
"Tire fire"
That got a laugh out of me. Yes, the organization is more of a mess in Chicago, but there’s also a more patient fanbase in Chicago, with an understanding that things are seriously screwed up. If you can’t make it in Boston it’s “wow, with all that money you couldn’t do it?” But if you can’t win in Chicago it’s “yeah, you and everyone else… better luck next century.”
Inside source that Sveum is going to accept:
A friend of mine sells mauled-by-angry-Venezuelan insurance, and Sveum just bought some.

Red Sox seems like the better job for him, but if they aren't willing to counter-offer then he's obviously going to take it.
Grillax people
not really
I expect that the Sox are going to really implode next year with the clubhouse mess that they have. They have too many bad attitudes on either bad contracts or are too vital to their hopes to get rid of. Whoever steps in their next year is going to be ground up and spit out.
Wait, the Red Sox are the team with bad attitudes on bad contracts???
Not the Cubs?

After this season
I don’t mind Sveum going to the Cubs. Quade was thrown under the bus rather quickly. Cubs don’t look like a threat—at least right now—to the Central. I like Sveum, but at times it looked like the Brewers offense was under-utilized. Hopefully Sveum holds resentment against the Cards and knocks them down a peg next season to help us out (not to say he’ll help the Brewers, which I hold no reason to expect—I just really hate the Cards now).
I wish Sveum all the best.
Haudricourt just tweeted that ESPN is reporting that...
…Sveum is waiting to hear from Red Sox before making a decision.

You'd think the Brewers had some kind of championship pedigree
Judging by the way former Brewers are being hired.
Can’t wait for the Astros to announce Davey Nelson as their new manager

Why?
There’s really no correlation to how well they played the game to how well they can coach/manage.
Some of the best coaches/managers were horrible players and played on horrible teams.
Pujols is the Barack Obama of baseball.
I think he was meaning 'former Brewers' as in coaches
but I could be wrong.

suckers!
never understood the fascination with Sveum but it should help us out greatly in beating the Cubs now :)
I wish him well.
I hope he finds some success (but not too much if he’s with the Cubs) managing. He’s given a lot to the Brewers organization. However, may not be such a bad thing to get a new hitting coach to mix things up, either.
My favorite Sveum moment was watching him jaw with an ump and get ejected after some terrible call (I think it was when Morgan was hit by the pitch and was called back because he “leaned into it”—did Sveum get ejected there?)

Ned Yost is part of the Bobby Cox coaching tree, therefore Sveum must also be.
