#8 MVB - all star!
I guess it says a lot about this team that the 8th most important player was an all-star starter this season. I know he lost time to injury, and that moved him down the list, but Rickie played a very vital role in the 1st half with his offensive production.
Personally, I think we got hosed on that one! - Harry Doyle
*most valuable, not necessarily 8th most important.......

Was hoping to see Wolf get more votes-- not that Hart and Weeks weren't solid this year.
Hart missed a month with an injury, as did Weeks. They both still had outstanding years, regardless.
Wolf, however, pitched very well this season, bettering his career averages in win pct., ERA, BB/9, HR/9, and finished with his 3rd highest innings logged, just 3.1 behind his career best. While he gave up more hits and struck out slightly less, he still had a heck of a year. The Brewers also won 20 out of 35 games he pitched in, which is solid.
I think he gets a little less credit around here these days, partially because of the personal catching situation.

He was certainly valuable
But you’re comparing him against himself, and not against the rest of the team.
