It's a minor league deal.

I'm sorry, but didn't Inglett all but prove last year he can contribute at the major league level?
0.8 fWAR as a utility man accumulated with only 160 AB? Even if we conservatively move that out to 1.5 WAR for a full season of work, that’s got to be enough for a major league deal somewhere, right? Instead we have Mark Kotsay’s veteran presence. Such a shame.

agreed
suck choice by the crew, unless he was somehow a bad apple in the clubhouse.

If Kotsay is a better "veteran presence" than Inglett, then why are the Brewers his fifth team since 2007?
Now that's great tasting chicken!

That actually probably supports the "veteran presence" role
Part of a couple good A’s team, then signed as with Atlanta, then traded to Boston for their playoff run in 2008. Traded to the White Sox for their 2009 playoff run.
There are a lot of reasons to hate on Kotsay, but I don’t think number of teams is one of them – if nothing else it supports the idea that he is a “veteran presence” when recently well run and successful teams like the mid-2000 As, Braves, Red Sox and White Sox all signed or traded for him.

I don't get all the Inglett love and don't think he proved anything last year
He was awful in the second half last season, is 33 years old without a MLB track record..
160 PAs and limited time in the field (UZR was +2.4 in a very limited time) is a awful small sample size to use if you’re projecting his WAR for next year.
When the Brewers didn’t sign him, the best he got on the open market was a minor league deal.
