• Yovani Gallardo pitched 3.2 innings, giving up four hits but only allowing one run. He also put up four strikeouts.
• Erick Almonte continued his hitting ways, going 2-4 with an RBI triple.
• Brandon Boggs were 3-for-4 and notched his team-leading ninth RBI
• There was another botched squeeze play, as Luis Cruz couldn't get a bunt down and Mike Rivera was tagged out at home. That's at least the 2nd failed squeeze of Spring Training. There was also a botched double-steal on a strikeout where Brandon Boggs was thrown out at home.
• Zack Braddock struck out the only batter he faced. Brandon Kintzler went two innings with one strikeout. Sean Green went one inning with one strikeout. Amaury Rivas gave up two hits, two runs, a walk and a hit batsman in 2/3 of an inning of work. Zach Segovia finished the inning after Rivas easily. Mark DiFelice had the ninth and made quick work of the three batters he faced.

• It was relayed during the bottom of the eighth inning that no matter if the game was tied, the game would end after the ninth inning, as it was a split squad day for Oakland and they were low on pitchers.
