Prince Fielder got an RBI single against Paul Maholm tonight, but also struck out twice.
Entering play tonight, Prince Fielder had struck out two times in the Brewers' 11 games this season. By the sixth inning of tonight's game he had doubled that total, as Paul Maholm got him swinging twice. Fielder went 1-for-3 against Maholm overall, driving in a run with a first inning single.
The fact that Maholm struck Fielder out a couple of times is hardly surprising: Entering the game tonight Fielder had hit just .071/.152/.071 against him in 46 career encounters (including two HBP). The strikeouts tonight were Maholm's 14th and 15th against Fielder, moving him past Adam Wainwright and into first place on the career list:
| Pitcher | PA | K |
| Paul Maholm | 49 | 15 |
| Adam Wainwright | 48 | 14 |
| Ryan Dempster | 47 | 10 |
| Sean Marshall | 24 | 9 |
| Roy Oswalt | 38 | 9 |
| Wandy Rodriguez | 39 | 9 |
Oswalt is pitching for the Phillies against the Marlins tomorrow night, putting him in line to face the Brewers on Wednesday.
