Vote For This Week's Brewer of the...Last Two Weeks
Two weeks ago I unveiled a new feature: Brewer of the Week voting. The initial vote was successful, people seemed to like the concept, and I decided to keep it around.
Then I forgot to write it last week. Oops.
So this week, we're voting for the Brewer of the Last Two Weeks. Here are your candidates:
Ryan Braun has reached base in 18 straight games, is hitting .341/.451/.561 over the last two weeks and recently signed a deal to remain as a Brewer through 2020.
Prince Fielder is hitting .409/.469/.750 over the last two weeks with three home runs and 15 RBI in 11 games.
Shaun Marcum has allowed just one unearned run over 13 innings during the last two weeks, walking one and striking out nine.
Casey McGehee is hitting .286/.348/.476 over the last two weeks with two home runs and 7 RBI.
Randy Wolf followed up a rough outing against the Cubs with 12.2 scoreless innings and allowed just five hits in his last two starts. Overall he has a 0.96 ERA in 18.2 innings over the last two weeks.

Would have gone Fielder
but off-the-field counts, too, haha. If we start voting on Brewer of the Decade, Braun’s got my nod for that one, as well.
It's going to be neck and neck this week
I went Fielder. I foresee those early HR begetting a lot more down the road. Unlike last year’s perpetual RISP problem, he’s been bringing them in so far this season. Go Prince!
The RISP problems will be minimal as long as Gomez is batting #2.
Give him an offspeed pitch down and in. He will swing and miss.
Basically a three way tie ...
But Fielder and Braun were great in the past as well, but Marcum does what few Brewers starters did the last couple of seasons. He and others will be the key for Brewers success, therefore he got my vote this time.
Braun will get many more player of the week awards in the next decade …
watched my first MLB ever from July 7th til 9th in Toronto :)) Awesome experience!
It's pretty close right now
with Fielder having a small lead.
Pujols is the Barack Obama of baseball.
I'd be curious to see a poll without the stats listed
And see if that affects the voting.
I can see how people would have a harder time voting for Braun when the guy listed below him has better stats.
Get a ife broseph
Maybe the vote shouldn't include names.
Then maybe Betancourt might get a vote or two throughout the season.
Give him an offspeed pitch down and in. He will swing and miss.
I'll admit
that I tend to take a very non-scientific or sabermetric approach to the Brewer-of-the-week and go for the player whose performance I personally enjoyed most and hence voted for Casey McGehee on the basis of his homer against the Cubs. However, I quite like the fact that we’re obviously so blase about beating the Cubs and so good that spanking a winning homer against them is only worth a handful of votes…

The Cubs suck
I feel some pity for them. Their fans on the other hand can burn.
Give him an offspeed pitch down and in. He will swing and miss.
Marcum was the easy answer for me.
Braun & Fielder are pretty much doing the same thing they did last year, but Marcum is a significant improvement over Suppan’s 8.68 ERA in 9.1 innings or Doug Davis’ 11.25 ERA in 12 innings at this point last season.
