Denizen of McCovey Chronicles (the SB Nation SF Giants' board) checking in with a question re your team's broadcasts on FS Wisconsin. I have DirecTV's Extra Innings, and thus get almost all the broadcasts from "away" teams in HD. I flipped on the Brewers-Astros game on Saturday night because it looked like a fun, competitive game. (Unlike the Giants game earlier that day.) Both the FS Wisconsin and the RSN that carries Astros' games were broadcasting in HD. I presume the two teams use the same pool of cameras. The oddest thing, from my perspective, is that it looked like the center field camera--the one they use on the main display of the pitcher delivering the pitch to the hitter--looked like it was NOT a high definition feed. It was a 16:9 widescreen format, sure--but the picture looked too blurry to be high def. The other camera angles--for example, the shots from the areas of the dugout to see the batter's face in the batter's box--did look like high def. I flipped on last night's game as well, and I thought I noticed the same phenomenon. When I switched to the Astros or (last night) Reds broadcasts, the CF camera looked the same as in the FSW broadcast. (Which would make sense if it is the same camera pool.)
Am I imagining this?
