Fielder, Gallardo, Hawkins, McGehee or Mitre: Who Will Be Brewer Of The Week?
This week's 3-3 record was actually an improvement over the 1-6 week that preceded it. Here are this week's nominees for Brewer of the Week:
Prince Fielder became the fifth Brewer ever to hit 200 career home runs on Wednesday. He's hitting .238/.333/.429 this week with the aforementioned home run and five runs scored.
Yovani Gallardo pitched eight scoreless innings and allowed just one hit in Saturday's win over the Cardinals, snapping the Brewers' seven game losing streak.
LaTroy Hawkins allowed just one hit and walked no one while pitching a scoreless seventh inning in three different games this week, and is riding a 6.2 inning scoreless streak.
Casey McGehee reached base safely in every game this week, with three multi-hit games and a fourth where he walked twice. He hit .350/.458/.450 over the six game stretch.
Sergio Mitre pitched 3.2 scoreless innings this week, including 2.2 in relief of Randy Wolf on Wednesday while the Brewers rallied to take the lead. Allowed just two hits and no walks in his appearances.

yo!
even a so-so win would’ve snapped the losing streak…but to do it in such an utterly dominant fashion, coming off of a string of horrible starts, allowed me to remember the practice of exhaling
That's the way I went.
But Hawkins is pitching well at a time the ’pen really needs it, and McGehee is starting to hit right when the offense really needs it. Any of the three would make sense.
It's stupid, but I can't get the base-running error out of my head for McGehee
Otherwise I would’ve probably put that over Yo’s performance since Yo only affected that single game whereas McGehee is moving back up to where we hoped he would be.
Yo
with mitre taking #2 this week. Casey makes too many errors (baserunning and otherwise) for me to get behind this week
