Brewers release minor leaguers Alex Periard, Demetrius McKelvie

Periard is a former top pitching prospect and was a member of the 40 man roster at one point, but was limited to 15 games last season due to injury and hadn't played in 2011.
McKelvie is only 20 but had hit .192/.265/.289 in two seasons for the AZL Brewers. He was a 25th round pick in 2009.

Let’s start some pending-transaction conspiracy rumors. Personally, I/ think this is just a prelude to getting Jose Reyes. Or Beltran. Or Pujols.
Periard has been off the 40 man for some time now.
So sadly, your point is moot.
