Corey Hart Hits Three Home Runs, Brewers Beat Nationals 11-3 For Seventh Straight Home Win
W: Yovani Gallardo (6-2)
L: Tom Gorzelanny (2-4)
HR: Corey Hart 3 (3), Prince Fielder (11) Mike Morse (3)
MVP: Corey Hart (+.272)
LVP: Carlos Gomez (-.045)
Win Expectancy Graph and Star of the Game Voting
If the Brewers could play all their games at home, they'd most likely be pretty good. They got off to a hot start tonight and coasted to their seventh straight home win and ninth in ten games.
Two batters into the game, the Brewers had two runs. Rickie Weeks was hit by a pitch by Tom Gorzelanny leading off the bottom of the first, and Corey Hart hit a home run deep to center to drive him home with his first long ball of the season. Hart walked in the third and homered again in the fifth, then again in the eighth. It's the eleventh multi-homer game of his career, and the first three homer game for a Brewer since 2003.
The Brewers gave Yovani Gallardo eleven runs to work with, but he didn't need that many. He allowed just one run (a solo homer to Mike Morse in the first inning) on five hits and a walk over seven innings, tying a season high with nine strikeouts.
Marco Estrada followed Gallardo to the mound and pitched a scoreless eighth, and Tim Dillard hit the first batter he faced and allowed two runs to score in his 2011 debut in the ninth.

Pretty sure I'm gonna vote Hart as player of the week just based off this game haha
I am too drunk to taste this chicken.

Second place.
Ryan Braun: He loves it. -- Four pitchers in history with 8.5+ WAR and <250 IP seasons: Greg Maddux (age 29), Pedro Martinez (age 28), Roger Clemens (age 27), Zack Greinke (age 25).
Biggest fear right now
A big letdown is coming tomorrow…

But the problem is the offense!
Didn’t you hear him in his press conference? If his team would only score 8 runs every time Volquez started, he’d be a 30 game winner!
I love awkward Davey/Craig exchanges.

Not as awkward as when Telly is hosting with Davey. You just sit and wonder who will complete a sentence first

Telly can finish sentences
But Davey has some speech issues. I don’t think it’s the camera. He might have wernicke’s aphasia or something.

Not sure if I saw this anywhere in pregame/game threads
But Kintzler was shut down again today with elbow soreness.
Awesome picture of Gallardo
I was disappointed with the lack of hookers but the pancakes were delightful
Pujols just hit a solo shot in San Diego
Walked halfway to first on a wallscraper. With the gravest respect – obviously.
Albert means no disrespect
Albert just wants to show moment of silence for gravity being murdered
If I didn't know better, I'd think the Brewers were a halfway decent baseball team...

Pujols has been very quiet this year…

Wasn't Morse's home run in the second inning?
Great win, nice to have a low stress ninth inning for a change.
With Hart and Lucroy in the top six spots our top 6 looks real impressive now.

It’d be perfect if Gomez was batting ninth, but I don’t expect Ron to try that any time soon.

Just wanted to let everyone know
that Jose Bautista is hitting .356, OBP over .500, and his BABIP is .316. Not even out of line. Unbelievable.
E: George 4 (5, throw, throw, throw, throw).
I saw this the other day
And would have done a spittake if i had been drinking something. That line with a sustainable BABIP? Insanity.
Weird batted ball data
Half of his BIP are flyballs, and almost one third of them are going over the fences right now.

You'd think such a high FB% and low LD% wouldn't be a recipe for success, but I guess he just crushes everything he connects with

OBP over 500
Is Bonds-in-his-prime territory. It’s “having the advantage over the pitcher, breaking the game of baseball” lunacy.
18 homers with only 31 RBIs is hilarious though. Prince and Braun chuckle at your production, Bautista.

I wish we could DH for Gomez.
Too close for missiles, I’m switching to Ueck.
Agreed.
DH for the guy who’s got no discernible skills on offense.
We pull our pants up and do our jobs here.
I normally dont cuss, but if we are DHing for Yuni why the FUCK is he on the field at all?
We have have people who are better than Yuni defensively.
