Today in Brewer History: Cycling Again

Stay connected for news and updates

One year ago today Jody Gerut notched the sixth cycle in Brewers history. The last Brewer to do it was Chad Moeller in 2004.

Having started just four games all season, Gerut's offensive output was as surprising as it was rare. Coming into that game, he had one hit in his last 18 at-bats and just four hits for the season. Entering the game he was hitting .133. The one game made his average jump to .222.

Gerut hit a solo home run in the second inning, a single in the third,  a triple in the fifth and got the double in the ninth. He was 4-for-6 on the night and drove in four runs in Milwaukee's 17-3 victory over the Diamondbacks.

Brewers that have hit for the cycle:

Mike Hegan - 1976
Charlie Moore - 1980
Robin Yount - 1988
Paul Molitor - 1991
Chad Moeller - 2004

With help from Brewerfan.net, happy birthday today to Huntsville Star Wily Peralta, who turns 23.
