Axford, Fielder, Greinke, Morgan or Wolf: Who Will Be Brewer Of The Week?
The pickings are a little slim coming off a 2-4 week, but I still think there are a few candidates worthy of BotW consideration.
- John Axford pitched perfect ninth innings in both Brewer wins this week, picking up one save. He's now converted 17 consecutive saves and allowed just one hit in his last six innings of work.
- Prince Fielder had a hit in all six games this week, hitting .421/.542/.632 with five walks, a double and a home run.
- Zack Greinke held the Rays to one run on just four hits over seven innings on Tuesday, walking none and striking out ten. In the process, he became just the third Brewer ever to record double-digit strikeouts in back-to-back starts.
- Nyjer Morgan had a three hit game, a double and a home run this week despite only getting four starts, and hit .357/.375/.643.
- Randy Wolf held the Red Sox to two runs on nine hits over seven innings on Saturday, walking one and striking out three in the Brewers' only win in Boston.

Fielder automatically disqualified for dropping a ball thrown right at him.
Give him an offspeed pitch down and in. He will swing and miss.
Not to sway the vote
But I am once again surprised by the lack of votes for Axford. I thought Ax, Greinke and Fielder would be the top three, in some order.
Now that's great tasting chicken!
I keep voting for Axford, but I always wonder if I'm giving him too much credit for a weekly award.
It’s a hard sell for Ax, only 2 innings of work this week, albeit a prominent two innings in the only 2 wins, but he’s been so solid for the Crew for such a long stretch now that I hate not seeing his name in the list of Brewers of the Week.
I love Greinke's performance
but I really think it has to go to Wolf, who, against all odds, won the only game the Brewers took from the Red Sox in Fenway. I think that is 100% deserving of the weekly award. If it weren’t for him, the Brewers would have lost 8 out of their last 10 and 5 in a row until the Rays win at home.

I almost voted for Nyjer Morgan just because he flew a shark kite.
