With a lack of farmdepth to get a SS...
So everyone would love to see a replacement for Yuni but being limited in the farm system, would people support trading McGehee and Yuni together (possibly to a AL team)?
I know the McGehee is slumping, so the Brewers would be selling low (not to mention I'm not sure if a team would want to trade for that left side of an infield, lol), but if they can improve the SS position with a ML SS or a ML-ready SS in AAA and call up Green for 3B (or Gamel if they preferred - they survived Braun for half a season, so I'm sure they could survive Gamel for half a season as well if they got better production and better D at SS), it couldn't worsen either position in the short term and depending on the SS could help them in the long term.
Obviously they won't be getting Reyes with this combo, but with McGehee's continued struggles and Green in AAA, how long will he be the starter anyways? If they keep McGehee next year and even if he finishes the season better (.245 and 15HR if they're lucky?), I could see a somewhat-open competition for the starting spot. The fact that McGehee is under arb til 2015 makes it attractive for team that maybe wants to use him as a 3B/DH (given that his knees won't get any better) with hopes he turns it around while not costing them much. This would offset the halfyear of paying Yuni to stink up their infield instead of the Brewers' and hopefully they get something of use.
Just something to spark a discussion, not even sure which way I feel yet...

Selling low is always a GREAT strategy
with both Yuni & Mcgehee
"That's not a weird stat. Rickie is a run-scorer," Yost said. "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter," Yost told reporters. "See, you guys have no concept. He's a run-scorer. So there's nothing weird about it. That's what he does."

How do you know when you are selling low on Yuni? Is there a high?

You're never really "selling" on Yuni
You’re leaving him on a porch and driving away as quickly as you can.

When you package him with a supposedly good SP
And the other GM is desperate enough to take him
Get a ife broseph
but according to DM
He wanted Yuni as part of the deal, because he had 70 RBI last year, and with the inconsistency of defensive metrics, some had him as a superior defender.

Yeah.... You didn't actually believe him, did you?
That was him trying to answer questions without saying he was forced to take Yuni, and trashing his new player.

Ha - imagine
“Yeah, Yuni sucks, but we really wanted a pitcher to give us a good xFIP so we had to take him.”

You still are going with the belief that everything DM says is 100% true?

pardon me
but are we the only community for whom you sort of materialize at the first hint optimism and then, only after you’ve convinced us that our players, prospects, coaches, and front office personnel aren’t nearly as good as we think they are, then dematerialize only to return once the flame of positivity flickers back to life, or are there others? i’ve been reading this blog for a while now and this seems to be your only function here.

I would be totally ok with trading Casey and Yuni for an upgrade at SS.
I don’t think any GMs will be, and alas…there lies the problem.

Yeah.
Everyone laughed when the Royals traded spare parts for Yuni. Many said that the Brewers being forced to take Yuni with Greinke made the deal a lot worse. There’s absolutely NO chance Yuni gets traded for anything, ever again. I don’t know if he even plays in the majors again after the Brewers release him.

What if Yuni,
was a daily visitor and commenter on this site? If batting .230 with 400 errors didn’t already crush his self-esteem, then reading the posts and comments on this site will.
