Axford, Betancourt, Braun, Greinke or Marcum: Who Will Be Brewer Of The Week?
Nine more weeks like this one would be pretty nice, as the Brewers went 4-2. This was one of the tougher weeks in recent memory to pick BotW candidates, as three pretty good candidates (Prince Fielder, Yovani Gallardo and Francisco Rodriguez) missed the ballot. Here are your nominees:
John Axford closed out all four Brewer wins this week, setting a new franchise record with 27 consecutive saves. He allowed just two hits and walked none while striking out five over four innings.
Yuniesky Betancourt had a hit in five of the six Brewer games this week, including a pair of doubles. He hit .368/.381/.474 this week.
Ryan Braun had multiple hits in three of his five appearances this week, including three home runs. He hit .474/.500/1.053 this week.
Zack Greinke pitched 6.2 scoreless innings against the Cubs on Wednesday in a 2-0 victory. He held Chicago to just three hits, walked three and struck out nine in the outing.
Shaun Marcum made two starts this week and won them both, combining to hold the Cubs and Giants to four runs on eleven hits over 13 innings, good for a 2.77 ERA. He walked one and struck out nine over the two starts.

Seriously, what does Ax have to do to earn BoTW?
He’s been lights out, saved 3 consecutive nights and hasn’t blown a save since April. He’s arguably the best closer in baseball, and he’s had a stellar week (well, he’s had a stellar season, but this week is a good microcosm of it).
If there was a week he deserved it, it's this one
But Braun has just been in his own universe this week. I couldn’t not vote for him.

This
The only way Ax is going to win is if there are no offensive standouts.
Pujols is the Barack Obama of baseball.
Same here.
It’s tough for me to vote for closers as player of the week also, Ax has been insanely good though.
For your health!
I forgot that I was voting for him every week because he's been performing at a high level since the 3rd week of the season
but I got distracted because every time I tune into a game Braun is hitting a dinger.
this
i voted for him with extra enthusiasm this week because he beat the consecutive saves streak. braun is a close second though. he really carried the offense
Braun had a 1.553 OPS this week.
I demand to know who voted for Yuni.
"PLUSH ALERT: THERE WAS AN UNTUCKING AT FENWAY!"
How is Counsell not on this list?
He is a history maker.

Oh come on
Why all the hate for Craigers? He’s a local guy.

I think I'd rather get Damian Miller back at this point if we're loking for a local guy
For your health!
Amen.
