And with that, the Brewers are guaranteed the division lead through at least Friday.

For four innings tonight, the Crew couldn't get anything going against Chris Carpenter. He limited them to one hit (an infield single by Ryan Braun) and a walk while recording the first twelve outs, but melted down in the fifth as the Brewers rapped out five straight singles and a Nyjer Morgan double to plate five runs, and coasted from there.

Zack Greinke got himself in some trouble early, allowing a two run homer to Matt Holliday in the first, but settled down and pitched six innings. He allowed just those two runs on seven hits and a walk, striking out five. LaTroy Hawkins pitched two scoreless innings in relief (first time since May) and Kameron Loe recorded the final three outs.

Corey Hart, Nyjer Morgan and Ryan Braun each had multi-hit games tonight. Prince Fielder was held hitless but was intentionally walked twice: Felipe Lopez, batting behind Fielder, went 0-for-4.

With the win tonight the Brewers are 12 games over .500 for the first time since the 2008 season.
