IMO benching Berkman was really stupid last night, if he’s doing this for any reason other than an injury it’s gonna be dumb
Kinda sucks being without 2 of our allstars but maybe Gallardo can make up the difference?

Braun hasn't been much of a factor over the past few games
So there’s not much of a difference to be made up tonight.
That being said, however, I hope Gallardo has a good outing tonight because I think the Cardinals are going to be pretty motivated to avoid being swept at home.
Pujols is the Barack Obama of baseball.
Just because Braun has a bad couple days doesn’t mean he’s not still the best hitter on the team. I still like the Brewers’ chances with Gallardo pitching, but Braun → Kotsay is a huge difference.

Doesn't say anything about him not being the best hitter on the team.
I’m merely stating that the Brewers were able to win the past few games without having much contribution from Braun, so there isn’t much difference that Gallardo would have to make up.

You know, instead of the game against the team that we’re directly competing with for the right to win the division and represent said division in the playoffs?
I can understand that occasionally during the season you might want to give Braun the day off
But the last time I checked the Cards were our closest challengers and they have their #1 starter going tonight. This is not the day to give Braun off unless he has some sort of injury.

I'm not buying it.
He physically looked tired or ill for a couple of days earlier this week. I’m not sure he’s injured, but I don’t think he’s 100%, for whatever reason. Braun wouldn’t normally need a day off after a couple of recent off days in the schedule.
