Primary starter at 3B is asked twice.
I will assume the second instance of the question is meant to be SS.

Its the same options as the first question
so one of them has to be. That’s why I said that I’m assuming its the second one. So when the votes are tallied, Kyle can know that I voted for the second one assuming it was meant to be SS. Since my answer differed from the first question.
Make sense?

Well I guess I think Taylor Green should be starting at SS then.
"PLUSH ALERT: THERE WAS AN UNTUCKING AT FENWAY!"
Actually, 7 OFs is correct
MLB has allowed any team Taylor Green is on to put an extra player on the field, out of respect to Taylor Green.
Get a ife broseph
There weren't any LaPortas listed, so I had to go with the next best option.

So which one do YOU think should be the SS question
This is fun!!1

I think Kyle wrote the 3B question, then decided to add Josh Wilson as an option, but forgot to delete his first version.
"PLUSH ALERT: THERE WAS AN UNTUCKING AT FENWAY!"
I think that makes less sense.
Since Wilson has played 154.2 innings at 3B in his career and 1807 innings at short. But, hey, agree to disagree.

No, he's right.
I added Wilson as an option at third, then forgot to delete the duplicate. I didn’t intend to ask about shortstops today.
Now that's great tasting chicken!
huh
that’s interesting. Why not?

Once the poll gets too long it becomes a pain to transcribe it all into tables for the post.
I usually try to keep it between 8-10 questions.
Now that's great tasting chicken!

This is the third time I've deleted the duplicate.
Hopefully it sticks this time.

I think we need to cut Counsell,
he isn’t getting any hits at all, and he also isn’t drawing any walks. I know he’s a good defender, but aren’t Hairtson and Lopez supposed to be solid defenders? They are both far better hitters right now.

I wonder if the Brewers could just DFA him and bring him back up in September. I know its brutal to send a 41 year old guy to the minors for a month, but it would let the Brewers bring someone up else (won’t mention any names). Counsell could try to clear his head, and get a few more at bats, and a prospect could get some shots at MLB pitching.
If Ted Thompson ran the team…
If Ted Thompson ran the team
the Brewers would be in last place.
Anyway, it would probably be the right thing to do, but there are two things that would have to happen…
1. Counsell would have to clear waivers (probably not an issue)
2. Counsell would have to accept his assignment (not sure if that’s a given)
Pujols is the Barack Obama of baseball.
One would think so, don't think Ted knows much about baseball. Hard to argue with this, tho.....

Ignoring the differences in the sports themselves
there’s also the matter of the different rules each GM has to work in.
Pujols is the Barack Obama of baseball.
For the sake of argument...
can we amend the inciting phrase to “If a GM with a comparable but sport-appropriate skill set, with a similar developmental philosophy to Ted Thompson” istead?
I'd prefer that he not be brought up altogether on a Brewers site.
Pujols is the Barack Obama of baseball.
Fair enough.
Sometimes it’s hard to stay in a vacuum. It’s easy to forget that just because you like one team from a region, not everyone who likes that team like (or want to cross-reference) other teams from that same region.
I should have just stayed with the Brewers….the point was that some GM’s are cold-hearted enough to cut fan favorites if they think it will help the team.
Not that there isn’t more than one way to build…different philosophies I guess..
But then if we cut him, Craig's going to sign with the Yankees next season, hit .400, and send an inappropriate cellphone pic to Suzyn Waldman.

I think there should have been a "force him into retirement" option.
I understand pride and everything, but Craig has got to get to a point where he realizes his place with this team is no longer on the field. I’m sure they could invent a coaching position or honorary duty so that he sould stay in the clubhouse, stay in the dugout, and still be a part of the team (I mean, the guy will probably be managing them in 5 years, anyhow) during the playoff run. But at this point he has to know he’s holding them back on the field.
Has a player ever retired in the middle of a season before?
I can’t think of any off the top of my head.
Also, I don’t think they could really force him into retirement. I guess they could tell him that if he doesn’t retire they’re going to DFA him, but retirement would mean he would no longer get paid (not sure if that’s a sticking point for him).
Pujols is the Barack Obama of baseball.
A whole lot of them
Griffey just did, for instance
I immediately thought of Griffey too. In the end he was a DH who couldn't hit though.
Counsell still brings value to this team and it’s only a couple weeks until the rosters expand and there is longer any reason for him to be collecting PA. I don’t see why he should retire or be DFA’d.

I've been banging the retirement drum for a while.
But you’re right, September call-ups make it a moot point. Now, if they put him on the postseason roster they’ll have some ‘splainin’ to do…
Manny retired in the first month of this season too.
Applying pop culture to Brewers discussions since 2009, earning the nickname of "Our Little Abed".
John Kruk retired in the middle of a game
I think he wanted to finish on a high note, recording a base hit, and packed his crap and left.
I wish he’d do the same on Baseball Tonight. Perhaps he could say something intelligent and walk off the set.
