Most of Lopez's skills are pretty limited and/or redundant on this team.
Why should he have stayed?
Now that's great tasting chicken!
What's not to like about it?
Don’t think they felt like Lopez could handle 2B defensively. He was having all sorts of problems there.

JHJ made him expendable, redundant, and inferior
If he were still the same player he was three years ago I’d keep him in favor of WIlson
How many backup infielders do they need?
Plus, Hairston and Wilson are both hitting better than Lopez (against both righties and lefties). Heck, Counsell is getting on base more often and plays better defense.
Plus, Weeks will be back soon making Lopez even more expendable.
Pujols is the Barack Obama of baseball.
I assume it will be like it has been the last week or so
Hairston/Morgan at CF and Hairston/Wilson 2B.

Pretty amazing that in ~10 days we've gone from "Why doesn't Hairston play?" to "Hairston plays everywhere."

And then in another 10 or so days (optimistically)
He’ll go back to not playing

Optimistically
I’m hoping in ten days he’ll continue his current rotation, just with shortstop in place of second base.

Good call
Hope he hits well enough to make it an issue. We already know that Yuni has the longest leash ever.

Agreed
But I doubt he’ll spend much time in center once Gomez gets back, and Gomez should get back before Rickie does.

are coaches usually the ones to break roster moves?
by MGT on Aug 21, 2011 5:17 PM CDT via mobile reply actions
Usually, but Nyjer Morgan has been doing it this year
“Hey Felipe – aaaaaaaaaah, You gotta go!”

Felipe, we hardly knew ye.
The Brewers at Miller Park: "ALL WE DO IS WIN, WIN, WIN NO MATTER WHAT"
The Brewers on the road: See above
Not that we wanted to.
Give him an offspeed pitch down and in. He will swing and miss.
More importantly
welcome back Narve-dog!
