Braun, Estrada, Marcum, McGehee or Morgan: Who Will Be Brewer Of The Week?
A 5-2 road trip is nothing to sneeze at, and neither are our nominees for Brewer of the Week:
Ryan Braun had three multi hit games this week and five of his nine hits went for extra bases (including two home runs). He also went 6-for-6 stealing bases for a +.261 WPA. He hit .346/.433/.692 this week.
Marco Estrada tied a career high by pitching seven innings against the Pirates on Tuesday, allowing two runs on seven hits with no walks and two strikeouts. He was worth +.090 WPA in the contest.
Shaun Marcum made two starts this week and allowed a combined three runs over 13 innings on ten hits, walking four and striking out seven. He was worth +.270 WPA this week.
Casey McGehee had a hit in five of his six starts this week, and walked and scored as a pinch hitter in his only appearance off the bench. He hit .280/.345/.520 this week and was worth +.284 WPA.
Nyjer Morgan had two multi hit games this week, including a four hit game against the Pirates on Tuesday. He hit .318/.400/.409 this week for a +.026 WPA

The results so far this week make me think of cell phone reception.
5 bars = Braun
4 bars = Estrada
3 bars = Marcum
2 bars = McGehee
1 bar = Morgan
Of course, it you were to truly match players up to reception based on how well they play, it might look like this:
5 bars = Braun
4 bars = Morgan
3 bars = Lucroy
2 bars = McGehee
1 bar = Betancourt

That is a lot of bars for Yuni.
Looking at his hitting I think he has no reception.
Give him an offspeed pitch down and in. He will swing and miss.
Since there's no Axford
gotta go Braun, just because I love stolen bases.
(no, I don’t care that Axford didn’t get a lot of work this week, this streak he’s on is historic and I’ll vote for him every chance I can)
