Pretty sure you're flying solo.
The Brewers at Miller Park: "ALL WE DO IS WIN, WIN, WIN NO MATTER WHAT"
The Brewers on the road: See above
I don't know that I'm necessarily a Gamel fan.
But I’m a fan of giving him a shot at first next year and using our scarce resources elsewhere.
I'm not. This team could be really good next year still. We just need a decent replacement for Prince and a better SS.
I have no concept.

Gamel could be a decent replacement.
If he gives the Brewers 3 fWAR, which is what Carlos Lee has been worth, and Casey McGehee or a replacement 3B bring back a 3.0 fWAR (Casey was worth 3.4 last year, 0.6 this year), then the Brewers will have already made up for losing Fielder’s 4.7 fWAR from this year. Factor in an upgrade at SS (Rollins, the pipe-dream of Reyes, nearly anyone other than Yuni), and the Brewers can easily surpass Fielder’s 2011 production, despite a 2ish fWAR downgrade at first base.
Of course, this isn’t exactly the best way of looking at it, and it’s a bunch of “ifs”, but I think it’s a good indicator of showing, at least, that it’s completely feasible to replace Fielder’s production.
Everyone who thinks less than 200 PAs is a good sample to judge with.

Not really the point though. The organization certainly doesn't seem too high on him.
Also, we could still be really competitive next season if we get a decent SS and someone to at least passably replace Prince’s production.
I have no concept.
They can have him.
I don’t think he’s got much chance of duplicating his production this year ever again, and I’d hate to be the team that threw money at him after a career year.

Anyone ever think that letting prince go to get reyes and a stopgap league average 1B would be ok?
Am I alone in this?
"That's not a weird stat. Rickie is a run-scorer," Yost said. "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter," Yost told reporters. "See, you guys have no concept. He's a run-scorer. So there's nothing weird about it. That's what he does."

I think it would be okay
but I don’t think it’ll be very likely to get Reyes.
Pujols is the Barack Obama of baseball.
I think most are uncertain if Mark A would raise payroll enough to get Reyes
Even if he would, I’m not sure multiple years to an injury prone SS is the best idea.

Seems like everyone needs a SS these days
Can’t see the Brewers getting much for a #5 starter. Heck, Alcides Escobar can’t hit at all and was the centerpiece for Zack freaking Greinke.

Just because he's a number 5 starter on the Brewers, doesn't mean he's a #5 on other teams.
Not sure what the average results of a #5 around the league are, but I’d have to imagine Narveson’s are much better than those numbers.
Escobar was still considered to have a very high ceiling, and Odorizzi was at least a co-centerpiece.
I’m not saying that we should be trading Narveson for a top prospect SS, but I’m curious how much he could net. Let’s say he’s packaged with Gomez, Gamel and Parra, or something. Do the Red Sox have any SS that are major league ready?
He's got a 4.40 ERA
A better FIP, but he’s still a #5 on most good teams, or just fill in on a bad team.
I don’t see Gomez, Gamel or Parra having much trade value (for example, where would any of those guys fit in with the Red Sox?), they all have significant flaws that are keeping them from contributing much on the Brewers.
As much as I’d love to turn the Brewers junk into a legit starting SS, I’m having a hard time seeing it happen.

The Red Sox need pitching badly. They'll be trying to shore that up in the offseason, I'm sure, and there's not exactly much available through FA
With Jed at short, they don’t exactly need Iglesias. It would probably take more than the names i gave, but I don’t think that’s a bad package (TWSS).
Gomez would give them a solid defensive outfield replacement. Somebody who could give them what they were hoping for with Cameron, but for cheaper.
Gamel gives them even more left-handed power for Yankee Stadium. He could be a solid DH option if Ortiz got hurt or flopped again.
Parra…. Yeah, nobody wants Parra anymore.
I hardly think that Narveson, Gomez, and Gamel are “junk.” Obviously, any 1 of Marcum, Wolf, Greinke, or Gallardo would get us more in return, but I’m looking for a way to stay a contender without Prince or Reyes.
I think you're overrating the Brewers guys quite a bit
When would Gomez play for the Sox? They have an MVP candidate in CF. Gamel can’t make the Brewers September bench, but is going to be the DH for the Red Sox?
Those guys aren’t junk, but they’re spare parts at best, and spare parts rarely land 21 year old SS.

Any of those teams have a decent SS they're willing to part with?

The Cubs have about 8 of 'em

Barney is not good at baseball
.278/.313/.354 this year.
.711 OPS last year in AAA.

Career 1.9 UZR/150 at 2nd
Translated to SS, that’s likely average to below average defense at short.
Greinke: "It’s not about the guacamole itself. I just don’t want to let them win."
He had good scouting reports at SS when he was in the minors
So he’s probably at least average there. He just can’t hit.
His second half numbers took a dive this year once teams saw him more often – he seems like a decent Counsell type utility guy, but probably not a starter.
Get a ife broseph
He hit pretty well for his first year. His OBP is low but so are all of the Cubs players. Their hitting coach apparently doesn't believe in walks.
I have no concept.
Rudy Jaramillo
Was previously the hitting coach for the Rangers from 1995-2009.
I don’t think he’s the problem.
