Taylor Green needs more starts
Am I the only one who thinks Taylor Green needs more starts / ABs ? What do you think? More after the jump!
The Minor League Player of the Year, called up at the end of August, Green deserves more starts / ABs especially after we've clinched the NL Central. I believe Ron should give McGehee / Weeks time off before the playoffs starts. I'd lean more towards taking McGehee out of there and maybe a game for Rickie to rest his ankle. McGehee is having an awful season and Green has shown a spark when given the opportunity. What do you think?

I think Weeks needs
as many ABs as h can get going into the playoffs.

that's why Green starts at third
although it is hard for me to advocate benching McGehee…you can’t help but just really like the guy.

McGehee
If you’re having a hard time advocating benching him… check out his stats.

Then check out YunE's stats.
Give him an offspeed pitch down and in. He will swing and miss.

This is exactly the problem RR has
where to play Hairston… SS or 3B.

I'd agree with that
Except I have a hard time getting behind the idea of starting a September call-up at 3B in the post-season. I’d maybe warm up to that idea if he was given more playing time this month.

I am advocating the benching of McGehee. His stats are why I think Green should be starting,
and if he can continue to hit major league pitching he should be our 3B of the future. But because McGehee is such a likeable guy, I’d love to see him “turn it around” (baseball cliche). Personality wise, he’s the kind of person you want on your team and on the field. If Casey was a douchebag, I’d still advocate his benching but would do so without feeling bad about it. Call it midwest sentimentality.

I think everyone would love to see him turn it around but it's a little late in teh season.
I have no concept.
Nonsense
Once the playoffs start, the regular season is meaningless. Some guys tear it up during the regular season, then struggle in the post-season (and vice-versa).
Green hasn’t faced anyone nearly as good as the starting rotation of the Phillies while playing for Nashville… I don’t know if we want to give him a try in the post-season.

Green is hitting .143/.143/.179 after the series in Houston
Obviously a small sample, but I don’t have a problem if they don’t use him much this year and give him a shot at the job next year.
Get a ife broseph
My thoughts too
Granted, I wish RR had given Green more opportunities (so his small sample size wasn’t so small), but I’m thinking that RR was playing McGehee and Betancourt to figure out which one Hairston was going to play for in the playoffs.
It’s beginning to look like Hairston is going to get time at 3B during the playoffs while Yuni starts every game at SS.
