BCB Archers Draft
I'll just start by saying I hate my team more than having crabs. I've never had crabs, but I'm pretty sure I'd hate my team more than that. Feel free to post your thoughts on the rounds/teams in the comments. As always, I'll have my analysis later.

All you other BCB Fantasy Football leagues are vermin in the eyes of Morbo.

yeah, forgot to mention that
but Karma is nice and gave him Jay Cutler

You want to change the title to the correct league Hyatt?
I like my team except at back-up RB so would consider any trade offers but with Fantasy football alot of it will come down to luck and the team staying healthy..
The fact that there was 11/12 teams at the draft hopefully indicates there will be plenty of activity throughout the season.

Really surprised to see how far Charles and Foster dropped
Really odd draft, actually
I was disappointed with the lack of hookers but the pancakes were delightful
I was surprised that Charles dropped so far, I thought about taking him 3rd
With Foster I think that there are obvious concerns about his health.
The first 2 rounds were weird with so many QB’s gonig so quick (6 in the 1st 18 picks) and then a long wait until Romo at 46.
Hyatt, I'm looking forward to your recap of the draft. I expect to hear you thoroughly deride your draft decisions.

There's only two picks of mine that I'm really not too big of a fan of
and it’s not because I didn’t get a quality player, it’s because of who I passed on.

I thought this was a Brewers website?

It is
and every chance we get to act as a community, we take advantage of. Every single member of this league is a HUGE Brewers fan. Doesn’t mean we don’t have other interests in life.
ass.

ass?
The BCB statement of purpose in the upper right handed corner of the home page says:
Brew Crew Ball is dedicated to providing a friendly atmosphere for intelligent Brewer conversation.
I didn’t mean this as an insult to you or your writing. I simply don’t consider fantasy football to be “intelligent Brewer conversation.” That’s my opinion, but at the same time, it’s all good if it helps people ACT as a community, as you say.
I don’t think my opinion warrants being called an “ass.”

But, you're entitled to your opinion
And an ass is very much like an opinion in that everyoner has one.

Let me tell you a little secret. Kyle maintains the law and order in our little town.
But the Fantasy threads are the dark and dirty streets that even the strongest lawmen stay away from. We insult each other constantly, wish venereal diseases on players who let us down, and otherwise behave in ways that you won’t see in the clean side of BCB.
Italicized part should explain some things to you specifically.

So, I'll ask Kyle then.
I was simply stating my opinion based on the BCB statement of purpose.
I don’t mind criticism and I get my share of it here and most of it is well deserved. I take BCB members insights and suggestions to heart and make the necessary changes.
But when someone calls me an ass, all I can do is feel a little bummed out, especially when my question was never addressed except by bully statements about Kyle being the sherrif. I think I prefer Hyatt’s oroginal response about it strengthening community because that actually provided an answer rather than some big bravado air.
When I visit Hyatt’s posts in the future I’ll know more what to expect, but I’m not going to stop asking questions, whether I’m in the safe haven of my apartment on a website thread or in the physical presence of other people.

It's a place for us to have fun.
For Hyatt that means encouraging a rough and tumble atmosphere, filled with smack talk. Kyle’s not into Fantasy sports, so he just lets us do our thing however we choose to do it. It is off-topic from the normal Brewers discussion, but it is, as Hyatt called it, a community experience.
Hyatt’s insult was entirely tongue-in-cheek.
For exmple, the verb “kittenmittons” was born out of the fantasy baseball league where the poster “kittenmittons” refused to actively manage his fantasy team, and had at least 6 starters on the DL, so we decided that his punishment should be this neologism. So, just as kittenmittons made no effort, Yuni “kittenmittons’ed that grounder” and so on.
If you check back on the Fantasy Football fanposts from last year, you’ll see what goes on.

Rough and tumble atmosphere
That jives with football. It reminds of that George Carlin routine distinguishing between baseball and football.
Anyway, Thank you for the explanation. I appreciate that!
By the way, is “kittenmittons” still in the league? or did he get more active after the neologism?

Sample of our trash talk. (Some quality Meiz vs. Hyatt action)
And kittenmittons continued to ignore his fantasy team while posting on the boards regularly. He even used the phrase himself at some point, and asked if he was allowed to do so.

I am so glad
that the “intelligent Brewers conversation” law (henceforth to be known as the Rob Deer For President Law and to be mentioned if anyone strays into non-Brewer discussion) isn’t enforced. Only about 10% of my comments are ever Brewers related and an even smaller percentage are intelligent.
Ultimately, BCB is great because it is a venue based around super-intelligent discussion about the Crew. However its also great because there’s tangential discussions about band names, American football and anything else that takes posters fancy on occasions (as long as it doesn’t completely dominate). As I’ve suggested before, BCB is like when you’re watching a game with your mates and your conversation often veers from the match you’re watching – its generally a good thing and variety on BCB should generally not be discouraged….

Tangenital discussions
I’m all in favor of tangents and variety and the scenario you describe watching a game with some buddies. The threads here naturally resemble that situation since BCB posters and commentators are essentialy doing the same thing.
But I am still surprised that fantasy football posts are in the same place as Brewer related ones on a site with such a specific focus, “intelligent Brewer conversation.”
or as you say (henceforth to be known as the Rob Deer For President Law)
Whatever, after reading through some threads here on Yar Nivek’s suggestion, I am entertained and understand much better the friendly banter that goes on in our fantasy baseball league.

Not a problem
The fantasy stuff is definitely a cathartic outlet enabling us to project all the rage we feel towards Yuni onto an innocent fellow BCB’er whose only crime was to win a fantasy match-up due to a fluky last minute touchdown…

So do you see that calling these threads the "Dark alleys where lawmen dare not go" was not bullying?

Yes
and I also understand now how these fantasy football posts add to the BCB community, so I stand corrected and thank you for the explanations.

Hyatt's Analysis
Once again, the auto drafter gets stuck with Jay Cutler, and that’s just Karmic justice. On to the Rounds
Round 1- No real shocks, but Arian did slip to 8 (thanks guys) and Jamal Chalres slipped to 10.
Round 2- An Early run on QBs and a late run on receivers made the running back depth stretch pretty far in this draft. The one question is Peyton going at 18, when he hasn’t taken even a practice snap all off-season. I love Steven Jackson at the end of the round.
Round 3- More receiver run going at the top of the round, and that allows me to take Matt Forte, which is awesome. But, what mystifies me is how high Deangelo and Dez are going in drafts. These are guys I would consider in the 5th of a 12 team league. Just because Deangelo got paid doesn’t mean he’s any better than what he was. And Dez is a 2nd year receiver who may break out, but 36 is too high in my opinion.
Round 4- Here is my first mistake. I took a 3rd RB before even considering QB or a 2nd receiver. I should’ve taken Colston who will produce 1200 and 7-9 TDs. UGH. Bad pick by me. Not that Ryan MAtthews won’t be good, he will, it’s just I had two glaring holes and didn’t fill them. Santonio is always a favorite of mine, and I think Felix will be a first or 2nd round pick next year with how he does this year.
Round 5- And here is me compounding that mistake exponentially. I got caught up in a TE run. Vernon Davis will never repeat his 13 TD campaign of a couple years ago, and doesn’t have a good QB. It was a stupid mistake, and I passed on quality guys like Lloyd and Steve Johnson to get him. I hated this. Boldin is a great pick as well.
Round 6- So here I was either going to take Matt Ryan, or get stuck with the Eli/Flacco tier of QB. I wasn’t going to let that happen, and it made me pass on WRs like Britt, Santana, and Ocho. Welker and Marshall should be solid guys with low end #2 production with a ceiling of a high end #2. Benson will be a 2nd rounder next year. I really like him.
Round 7- Finally a #2 receiver for me, and it’s Steve Smith. I hate my team. Ocho and Santana should be good, and Joe Addai will be a solid #2 RB. I think Austin Collie is a walking concussion, and his production will plummet with Manning and his neck twig.
Round 8- AJ Green is who I wanted, but he was gone (good pick there), so I landed the other Rookie receiver who’ll be phenomenal in Julio Jones. It’s a little high for Plax and Amendola, but they could be solid flex guys. I think Jacobs will be a solid TD vulture, and worth a flex start spot too. I was hoping Knox would fall to the next round, but he didn’t.
Round 9- The first D goes off the board here, which is much more appropriate than the other 2 drafts. Kevin Kolb is the only guy from this round who has the potential to be more than bye week replacement.
Round 10- Hey look, a run on D! But the Saints? Really? No one else excites me.
Round 11- Torain could be a valuable flex guy once Hightower fumbles his way out of the job.
Round 12- HANDCUFFED!!! I now have Arian insurance in Ben Tate. Crabtree and Sims-Walker could be valuable Flex receivers.
Round 13- I had McCoy as a backup QB in the two other leagues, so I decided to change things up with Orton. Bess is another guy with Flex or even low end #2 potential.
Round 14- It’s kinda amazing how no one believes in Seattle’s Mike Williams this year. But I understand with Tavaris or Whitehurst getting him the ball, and Sidney Rice coming to town. A lot of handcuff picks here.
Round 15- Ahh Chris Cooley, why couldn’t I have just relied on you and taken a 2nd Receiver instead of Vernon Davis… Kickers and trash otherwise.

Don't hate on the Manning pick. It's tough betting against him
However, it was difficult for me to choose between Peyton Manning or Cam Newton

have you seen his schedule this year? The entire NFC West, Buffalo, Miami, the Redskins twice. Not too many good defenses there…

In retrospect,
I took the wrong Dallas player at 36. Felix Jones should have been the pick, as I like him more than Bryant, and I should have followed that up with Colston. Oh well. This one was my first draft of the year, and it helped a lot to set up draft strategy for my other leagues.

Very happy with how my team turned out. From reading Hyatt’s write-up, it sounds like he likes my team too. Charles at 10 overall, Felix in the 4th round, Addai in round 7, AJ Green in round 8, Torrain in round 11, Sims-Walker in the 12th, McCoy in the 14th. The only guys I am a little worried about are Brandon Marshal and Dwayne Bowe. They could both score 20 points one week and go off for 2 points the next.
Owner of the great and powerful Stinky Cheese!
I'm fine with Bowe as long as you think he's in the 15-20 range
not in the top 10. He’s going to be a fine number 2, but he won’t carry your team all year simply because his schedule is infinitely tougher than last year.

I can't believe I drafted Eli
Every time I see him on my roster, I want to punch the screen.
Could be worse
You could of drafted his brother in the 2nd round now knowing that he is likely to miss several games.
to you both, my condolences

Oh no I did not draft Peyton
I wouldn’t draft somebody with that much of a question mark injury wise in the 2nd round.
Trippingandy is the one that should be getting the Nelson treatment.
Wait, you don't get points for consecutive games started?!?
Because Eli is the new leader in the clubhouse.
