Braun, Kottaras, Marcum, Morgan or Wolf: Who Will Be Brewer Of The Week?
This week got off to a 4-0 start...but an 0-3 finish. We've got a few great individual performances to choose from among this week's BOTW nominees:
Ryan Braun had nine hits over seven games this week, including a pair of home runs. He was worth +.386 WPA.
George Kottaras only appeared in two games this week but one of them was on Saturday, when he hit for the cycle. He was worth +.165 WPA this week.
Shaun Marcum allowed just one hit and a walk over seven innings Sunday, striking out eight. He was worth +.334 WPA this week.
Nyjer Morgan started five games this week and had a hit in all of them, including two doubles and a home run. He was also hit by two pitches and went 2-for-2 stealing bases for +.270 WPA.
Randy Wolf pitched eight innings Monday and allowed just one run on four hits against the Cardinals, walking two and striking out five. He was worth +.304 WPA.

Interesting change
Instead of the usual stat line, you’re only showing WPA.
Pujols is the Barack Obama of baseball.
Time constraints this week
I had to do the post Thursday night, so B-Ref hadn’t updated stat lines yet.
Now that's great tasting chicken!

Kottaras
only because a cycle is more rare and unpredictable than a no hitter, and when on earth is he going to get even the playing time to garner another player of the week consideration?
Braun
because his WPA did more to help the team than Kottaras’ individual achievement.

I'm surprised the pitchers aren't getting more love.
2 great starts, I went with Wolf because it was more important.
Usually happens because starting pitchers only impact 1 or 2 games in a week.
Pujols is the Barack Obama of baseball.
I voted for Wolf for the same reason
He was the only thing standing in between the Brewers and a sweep at the hands of the Cardinals.

Cycle gets the square
gotta go with George on this one
He’s actually underrated, but that’s another can of worms…
