Much rejoicing

Right on, man!
My numbers were almost identical to yours, so I’m rooting for your numbers to be more accurate. I’m really interested to see Marcum and McGehee’s numbers. I thought MLBTR was way high on those. Oh, and Loe, too.

McGehee?
Is that more for validating your estimate because whatever he makes doesn’t really affect the Brewers.
Pujols is the Barack Obama of baseball.
Yeah pretty much

Yeah if I remember in years past
you and I are pretty darn close on estimates.

What do you think he'd get as a free agent?
I honestly can’t see Gomez getting much more than this as a free agent. Isn’t a point of arb to help discount players salaries?
If he was a FA I think he would get a 2 or 3 year deal
I think that the amount is about right for his likely production but if they sign Aoki, Gomez is likely to be the cheapest of the 5 outfielders on the 25 man roster once Braun comes back.
For a team like Milwaukee it seems a little extravagent to be paying that much for a 5th OF so therefore I think that if they are serious about signing Aoki there is a decent chance that one of Morgan,Hart or Gomez would be traded.
Morgan might still be the cheapest...
… will be interesting to see what he gets in arbitration.

Yup.
Remember, Gomez is much farther along in the Arb process than Morgan is. This will be Morgan’s first year in arbitration. I think their salaries will be the same, though.
Coco Crisp got 2 years $14m
Not a perfect comp obviously, but guys who play CF really well can usually make some decent money.

I'm sure his family is proud of him

In other news: The McClung Returneth.
If Plush had to pick Wearwolf or Vampire, I'm a Wearwolf!

Doesn't sound like he's expected to play for Milwaukee at any time, however
Do players “on a minor league contract” make the AAA going rate or is it a negotiated contract like any other just not guaranteed? E.g., If a AAA farmhand under control of the Brewers is paid $65k, does that mean McClung could’ve signed for $90k?
my first thought was cheap emergency reliever depth stashed in AAA
because I would rather see Mr. Home & Away Platoon in a relief role than Chase Wright if we had a rash of injuries all at once to the bull pen.
Or maybe they signed him just for some veteran grit for the nashville squad.
minor league free agents don't have a salary cap
the $65K is actually, IIRC, for players on the 40-man. But I definitely have heard of minor league FA, even ones not on a split contract, making over $100K a year.
Side note
wasn’t it McClung that you were alluding to in the other post that didn’t like Braun and made the T-Shirt comments on twitter?
Am I wrong and/or confused on that?

yes, it was
I figured anyone who’s been around here long enough figured that one out, and I know he is quite aware of where he is being discussed on the internet
(Also, if any other ex-Brewer may have had a grudge against Braun, it would probably have been Mike Burns, he was the other party to Deputy Braun’s bus-throwing)
I thought so, but I wasn't positive
its been a while.

E: George 4 (5, throw, throw, throw, throw).
McClung sits in the rafters of the First Congregational Church of St Louis, waiting...
It’s an open casket funeral, TLR lies motionless inside.
“It’s never too late…” Seth whispers as he rubs up a fresh baseball, then takes aim…

I'm happy with this.
As some of you may recall, I love me some GoGo.
Packers: Working on a dynasty.
Blackhawks: Taking care of business as usual.
Badgers: Chin up, boys.
Brewers: Move along, nothin' to see here.
my grandma is still sad that he's not a Twin
After seeing their attempts at having someone fill in at CF last year, I don’t blame her.
