Can we talk about scooter gennett? Although his performance has been outstanding, I have to be Mindful of what his ceiling is. his arizona fall league performance was Excellent, but what are Realistic expectations Of his performance considering his size? the guy is only 5’9" and is listed as 165. that doesn’t speak much more than a Nimble Gamer. while he does have major league Ambitions, let’s be Real. his power is not in the pedroia class, and I don’t see him as anything more than bench Fodder. and for all the Innovative performance stats out there, he’s still a shrimp whose body limits his potential. i guess we could get Enthusiastic about it, but i guess i am Lagging behind on this. so i’ll Decline to vote vor him at this point.
"That's not a weird stat. Rickie is a run-scorer," Yost said. "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter," Yost told reporters. "See, you guys have no concept. He's a run-scorer. So there's nothing weird about it. That's what he does."

He's not worth voting for yet.
I just don’t see a reason to vote for him yet. I don’t know what he has done to earn a vote this early, so I agree with you. Maybe sometime next week, we will see what he did last season to earn his spot in the poll up there.

I call this acrostic poem "Rebuttal."
Big problem with your post.
Although I see your point, I think you’re hiding a
Non-negligable and
Noteworthy personal agenda.
Even if your points are worth acknowledging, I see a
Danger in allowing you to lead the conversation.

I need to close this post.
People are starting to wonder why I’m laughing so hard. (It’s not really that hard, but it’s noticeable.)

and here is where I take the bow
I feel the acrostic was the opus and thus I have nothing left to give in ways of poking the dragon. Smiles all around.

I knew we peaked too soon.
Now what am I supposed to do with the next 13 days of this series?
Now that's great tasting chicken!
there are a finite amount of literary devices.
I’ll see if I have anything left in the tank for you tomorrow.

Definitely not an impact kind of guy
Id say at worst he has the potential to be an average every day player along the lines of Jonathan Lucroy.
You are definitely onto something though regarding his height and the likelihood that his best bet is as a bench player.
That being said, I would have been voting for him ahead of Taylor Green simply because of ceiling and positional value. But Green probably will win this spot over the better prospect in Bradley.
Psychology
We need to believe in SOMEbody who’s potentially fewer than 2+ years away from being a major league contributor.
Jungmann's your best bet
If that is your outlook.
Contributing and making an impact are definitely different things, and contributors rarely really play a special type of role on contending clubs.
Yup. I understand the difference.
And I don’t really see a very impactful player any closer than the 2+ year window. Maybe Jungmann will prove me wrong, but we already voted him #2.
the whole "prospect" thing is an entire measure of that
a “prospect” is just a measure of potential, and these guys are alllll full of potential, but in RL guys like Mark Rogers fizzle the heck out and guys like John Axford make the majors. (And guys like Brandon Kintzler have the same MLB impact as Rogers, but Kintzler was a 40th round draft pick)
I'm not sure it's even appropriate to call Green a prospect anymore.

He's still only 25, and he certainly hasn't had enough big league time to be considered a major leaguer.
Now that's great tasting chicken!
Gamel hasn't had much experience either.
Is 26 the cut off point? Or is the cutoff 175 PA? Or have we just not gotten to him yet?
Not a huge deal either way though as this is all pretty subjective. I wouldn’t have put Green on the list, but 26yrs of age is as good a place to cut it off as any. The fact that we’re talking about two 25 year olds and we’re not out of the top 5 yet says plenty about the Brewers system, imo.

Gamel has accumulated enough MLB service time to no longer be considered a rookie.
He’s not an established major leaguer either, though, so I guess he’s just trapped in no man’s land.
Now that's great tasting chicken!
Not just enough to no longer be considered a rookie but enough to have a full year of service time.
Give him an offspeed pitch down and in. He will swing and miss.
I believe that post went straight over your head
Unless, of course, Hyatt actually meant what he said about Scooter while he was paying tribute to The Prospect Who Shall Not Be Named.
