VIDEO: Ryan Braun's NL MVP acceptance speech
By now you've probably heard a fair amount about what Braun did/didn't say last night. Here's your chance to see it for yourself.

Bobby Valentine, when he wasn't eating, looked pretty pissed.
Good thing I don’t give a crap about Bobby Valentine.

My video was kind of choppy
Was Valentine mouthing words during the speech, Or was that just obnoxious chewing?
Chewing.
He actually had a roll hanging out of his mouth while he was applauding after Braun’s introduction, and he took a bite of something else about halfway through the speech. He looked supremely bored, imo.

I'm pretty sure he mouthed the word "WOW" at one point

It may have been bad lighting, but I think I saw him riding a bike at one point too.

Riiiight
Sounds like someone explained to him since he’s early denials how he could believe he didn’t cheat (and how it could be a gray area), but would still be suspended. Maybe he just felt it wasn’t the right forum or something, but that wasn’t particularly upbeat.
Maybe he can take this “opportunity” to learn ballroom dancing! Spend more time working on his restaurant and clothing businesses!
sigh.
Well he's already been through the appellate hearing...
… and I’m sure he’s talked to his lawyer about the almost complete lack of any chance of successful appeal ad nauseum. I’ll be interested to see what he says once the decision comes out and his suspension becomes official and he’s free to talk about the situation, assuming he chooses to do so.

talk
is cheap.
What can he say after the suspension is upheld that he can not say now?
Cheater is caught, enjoy the $150 million contract, the vacation, and the fresh new reputation.

Oh, everything
Braun is bound by confidentiality until after the hearing. He’d get in trouble or suspended additionally for talking about it now. Though apparently, those same confidentiality agreements can be conveniently broken when leaking a story to ESPN.

If nobody says anything, that would be the best way to shut down a troll.
However, since somebody seemingly has to say something, one thank you for your insight would be near perfect. Everyone else can just rec that.
The less of a reaction to a trollish comment, the better.
More comments (even if they all say the same dismissive thing) are more of a reaction than one and would be more likely to be pursued by the troll.

Because I don’t think he made anywhere near $150 million.

At some point the story is going to come out
Either the league or Braun will reveal that the failed test was for a banned substance but in no way indicated that he intended to cheat; that it was a technical failure that required punishment. MLB is already in hot water for letting the whole story leak out in the first place, I’m sure they’ll provide a way for him to save face if he deserves it.
Mark Attanasio is the best.
save face?
Braun’s a cheater and it is public knowledge.
The ratio of green to white in this thread has to be the highest in BCB history.

Braun is forever tarnished
…and will most definitely serve the full 50 game suspension. It’s really too bad. It’s a black eye for baseball, whether somebody is a Brewers fan or not.
No Prince, no Braun for 50 games, and no pharmaceutically enhanced Braun forever is going to be tough to overcome in Milwaukee. How this team weathers the adversity and makes up for a tremendous loss of offense will be interesting to see.
The Blackhawks and the Stanley Cup in 2010.
BLou is forever tarnished.
He probably wont be banned, but now that no one will take him seriously, it will be interesting to see if Brew Crew Ball can recover from the adversity he has brought upon them.
All is vanity.

it will be interesting to see
how the Cubs manage the $18,000,000 due to Alfonso Soriano over the next 3 years. A guy who has topped 100 RBI a total of 2 times in his career and bats either 5th of 6th in the lineup is pretty pathetic for what they are paying him.
Watch out for falling chunks of concrete.

I think the saddest part
Is that BLou is actually a legitimate contributor to the other BCB, unlike the random Cardinals trolls or guys like Tuna who just join to be idiots, which I think says a lot about that blog.
Also thanks for your insight.

Twitter rumor that Prince signed with Nationals
Can’t see any way it could possibly be wrong.
If Plush had to pick Wearwolf or Vampire, I'm a Wearwolf!
If it's true, do the Phillies even finish 2nd in the East?
Their pitching is still there, obviously, but that offense is old and often injured.
2011: A wasted year
I think the Phillies are still the team to beat either way. Pitching is too good.
If Plush had to pick Wearwolf or Vampire, I'm a Wearwolf!
That may not be enough.
FloridaMiami and Washington are in that mode as well, but their best players are just reaching their prime, whereas the Phillies whole offense is on the downslope at this point. Chase Utley and Jimmy Rollins can’t stay healthy, neither is putting up MVP numbers anymore. Hell, neither has put up anything to write home about in 2 years. And who knows how Ryan Howard recovers from his injury, if he is even to play much this year at all? Let’s say those 3 play average-to-above like they have for the last couple years (assuming some regression for Howard), who is going to carry the offense? Hunter Pence won’t be able to score all of the runs every game by himself. Victorino, maybe, but I wouldn’t bank on him to pick up the slack if anyone misses significant time.
And if it doesn’t happen this year, it can’t be far off. The Phillies have, like, 3 guys on the right side of 30, and not by much.
2011: A wasted year
That guy also declared last week that Braun had been suspended
Apparently in his world, MLB didn’t even wait until the hearing to hand down a decision.
