I'm not watching it, but I wonder how we will all feel when we see him put on that Tigers jersey.
That will be the moment when it fully sets in that he is gone. I know, it’s been a near certainty for years, but that moment will just make it official.

yeah even though we knew he would be gone, this is still kinda depressing/sad

I am too drunk to taste this chicken.

Some dude just said Miguel Cabrera's fielding numbers at 3B are comparable to Adrian Beltre
Solve for X: 5.5 (Fielder) + 0.3 (McGehee) + 0.5 (Betancourt) < X (Gamel) + 3.6 (Ramirez) + 1.1 (Gonzalez)... X >= 1.7 fWAR!
These reporters are dicks.
Solve for X: 5.5 (Fielder) + 0.3 (McGehee) + 0.5 (Betancourt) < X (Gamel) + 3.6 (Ramirez) + 1.1 (Gonzalez)... X >= 1.7 fWAR!
So when is the mourning period over? So we can stop talking about Prince?
Just wondering, Prince is not a Brewer anymore so why should I care again? The Motto of the State of Wisconsin is FORWARD, Prince is in our past we need to look forward.
It is not like we won all that much with Prince. One Wild Card One Division and One NLDS series in all the time he was here. The Brewers will survive and win without him.
(Hey MN how was the punctuation? I am really trying to work on that for you.)
"It's a joke. It's all a joke.
Yeah, I'm tired of hearing about that Robin Yount loser too.

Yes I never understood the never ending love for the 82 team
last time I checked the 57 Braves were the last Milwaukee Baseball team to seal the deal
But hey you guys keep telling yourselves that getting close is good enough if that is what it takes. That is one of the problems with Wisconsin sports fans we are as a group, way to willing to accept almost good enough except for Green Bay since they actually do win titles every so often we hold them to much higher standard than the other teams in the state.
Yount did not leave I hate Molitor too gasp
"It's a joke. It's all a joke.
It's a matter of perspective.
Yankees fans can bitch and moan that the Yankees didn’t win the World Series because they’ve won 85 of them. We’d be sitting awfully high on our horse to call one of the best Brewers teams in team history a failure because they didn’t get as far as we’d had hoped.
Maybe it’s not perspective, maybe it’s an appreciation for what we have, not jealousy for what we don’t.

I am not saying that the 82 teams was not good.
But this never ending love fest for a team that in the end failed baffles me, we are like Cub fans clinging to our little “Oh we got so close” life rings.
It is not jealousy at all I had no issues with CC leaving he was not really a Brewer he was a half season loan. I was alright with that, I hate how Prince has basically been telling us he was leaving since 2005 and his first AB that night in Tampa(I have that at bat on film somewhere since I was lucky enough to see that game in person)
the hell with it there is no sense in swimming upstream the vast majority of the Lemming here will worship Prince and say how happy they are for him when he finally wins a World Series in Detroit(I personally do not think Fat Man will ever win one but that is just me). Cool what ever, I will not be a member of that group I will go away and shut up I will leave you all to your Brewers Group think :) Bunch of lemmings
"It's a joke. It's all a joke.
"I will go away and shut up"
Thanks!

If it is group think and we are lemmings to wish someone well who never did anything but good for you
then count me in. I believe it is called basic human decency.

I do this (annoying and pretentious) thing...
where I link to the Wikipedia article on logical fallacies, then point out specifically which ones are being used. I’m not sure if they’ve invented one for all of the directions you’re coming from.
You’ll find people are willing to have discussions with you if you divorce yourself from some of the emotional rhetoric you tend to use and actually… I dunno… discuss things rather than rant about them. Maybe. No? Yes?

I like this logic
It’s never me, it’s always the group ganging up on me. I’m a martyr!
At some point, you have to look at yourself and the way you present yourself on the board and ask “do I invite this type of reaction?”

I was asking for constructive criticism that is all
just trying to be a better BCBer and nothing says BCB like good punctuation. If he is going to complain about my punctuation, he could at least make an effort to show me what I am doing wrong right.

awesome another TA
Thank You Two Shoe, I will try to learn from this. I will endeavor to write more correctly in the future. By the way, when is the midterm? (was that any better?)

Well, you forgot to capitalize "was". Other than that, though, it was great.

I am tired of the Lemmings and Group Think that make up this place

Good day Go Brewers and Fuck Prince :)

I generally don't like to get involved at times like this, but I do want to point something out.
You’re allowed to have different opinions. I think that most of us on here like it when people have different opinions. It creates a diversity that is needed. Debates are usually welcomed. It’s just the way that you choose to carry it out. When you attack us and call us names, we’re going to defend ourselves. There’s a big difference between, “You’re idiots for thinking this way,” and, “I disagree with your opinions because…”
Also, to answer your question, this is a Brewers blog that covers the Brewers, past and present. It’s a daily part of the site. Every day in the Mug, Kyle has a space talking about former Brewers. There’s a post every day talking about the history of the Brewers. Because he was recently a Brewer, the majority of people do still care about what Fielder does. As a result, content will be generated that reflects this. There were similar posts (though in smaller amounts) when Kotsay, Betancourt, and McGehee all left the team and went to their new teams. As with any other post, you are free to read whatever you want to read and pass up whatever you don’t want to read. All we ask is you don’t attack us just because we care about something that you don’t care about.

But, really,
nobody honestly gives a sh!t if you spell stuff right, or use correct punctuation or not. As long as you keep it legible, you should be fine. The problem occurs when you want to say controversial stuff; pointing out poor grammar is an easy way to discredit someone. So if you are going to say something that you think might piss others off, maybe take a second look to make sure you haven’t given them anything to call you out for.

Don't care about spelling
But when a post is just one giant paragraph with no periods or commas, not only is it tiresome to read, but sometimes you literally can’t understand it.
"Our attitude is we look at ourselves and we grade ourselves. And even if we don’t like what’s happening on the other side, we don’t make a — it’s not our business" - Tony Larussa
I'd personally disagree, but I'm also fully aware that I'm in the minority on this.
The way I see it, if someone doesn’t take the time to write their argument like they care about what they’re arguing, the reader isn’t very likely to care about it either.
2011: A wasted year
I like that reasoning, and it is usually true.
I’m more likely to take a person seriously when they use proper punctuation and spelling.
Contributor on Brew Crew Ball, Commissioner of Prognostikeggers, Owner of a broken sarcasm detector
A better way to say it is this.
There is a strong direct correlation between the percentage of correct grammar used and how seriously I take a person. It doesn’t mean that I don’t take a person seriously when they don’t use correct grammar, but the chances increase as correct grammar usage increases.
Contributor on Brew Crew Ball, Commissioner of Prognostikeggers, Owner of a broken sarcasm detector
No, you weren't asking for constructive criticism.
You were trying to continue a fight. You should probably back off, since you’ve already got two strikes.
Now that's great tasting chicken!

This was at least partially my fault
I’m sorry I said anything. It was a genuine pet peeve of mine that I couldn’t understand his posts, but I should have just ignored them, so I apologize. And even now I feel like I’m sounding douchey, so I’ll just be quiet.

Wait
It is not like we won all that much with Prince. One Wild Card One Division and One NLDS series in all the time he was here. The Brewers will survive and win without him.
Yeah because in the last previous 12 years before Prince was playing the Brewers were a .452 ballclub, never had a .500 season and went 23 years in a row without reaching the postseason. In the years that he was here they went .513 and went to post season twice.
I not saying that the Brewers are staring into the abyss or anything with him leaving but things were pretty bad for a long time before he got to the major leagues, and his time here has not coincidentally, coincided with the most successful time for the team in 30 years.

To be honest, the mourning period will never be completely over.
I’m not saying that the Brewers won’t move on, I’m just saying that regardless of what he does for the rest of his career, we will remember his time in Milwaukee and will miss what he brought to the team. It doesn’t mean that we’re not moving on as fans or the team isn’t moving on as an organization.
Also, he made this team better, and while it resulted it two postseason appearances, what do you expect? No team is going to go from being the Pirates to being the Yankees in one season. The team is on its way to being a perennial contender. It wasn’t going to happen overnight, and he did his job by getting the team on track to that.

I am still mourning over Molitor
He was my favorite Brewer for many years just like Fielder.
I hate Yuni.

Shrug.
Fielder is the top story today because there’s not much else going on.

I mean, without the Fielder thing
this was in the running for top story.

Ramirez wanted to stay in the midwest for his family
Maybe we’ll get some Ramirez kids bouncing around. And maybe Aoki will, too. Well, maybe. Probably not. Those kids won’t be as cute in 9 years anyway!
