Norichika Aoki finished fifth in the NL Rookie of the Year voting with two second place votes and five third place votes.

The results for the rookie of the year voting were just released by the BBWAA on MLB Network, and Norichika Aoki received some votes on a few of the ballots, as expected. He received two second-place votes and five third-place votes, putting him on seven of the thirty-two ballots. Mike Fiers, the Brewers other potential candidate for Rookie of the Year, did not receive any votes.

As Kyle posted earlier today, Aoki is the first Brewer to receive votes in the Rookie of the Year voting since Casey McGehee did in 2009, and the 20th Brewer to do it in franchise history. Adam McCalvy also added that Aoki is the seventh Japanese position player to be in the top 10 of his league.

Norichika Aoki played in 151 games for the Brewers in 2012, posting a .288/.355/.433 batting line with 10 home runs, 50 RBI, 81 runs scored, and 30 stolen bases. He was worth 2.9 WAR, according to FanGraphs.

Bryce Harper won the award with 112 points and was the only player to be named on all 32 ballots. Wade Miley finished second with 105 points, Todd Frazier in third with 45 points, and Wilin Rosario fourth with 12 points.
