George Kottaras was the Brewer MVP today, going 2-for-3 with a walk and a home run and driving in both runs in a 2-1 win over Ryan Dempster and the Cubs. FanGraphs says Kottaras was worth +.362 WPA (win percentage added) today, which would make this the single best game of his major league career:
| Date | Opponent | Line | WPA |
| Today | Cubs | 2-for-3, BB, HR, 2 RBI | +.362 |
| July 2, 2011 | Twins | 1-for-1, RBI | +.354 |
| June 20, 2010 | Rockies | 2-for-5, 2B, R | +.246 |
| May 20, 2010 | Pirates | 1-for-2, BB, 2B, RBI | +.214 |
| May 24, 2009* | Mets | 3-for-5, 2 2B, RBI | +.204 |
* - The last game on this list came when Kottaras was a member of the Red Sox.
Kottaras plated the go-ahead run with a single as a pinch-hitter as the Brewers scored five runs in the eighth to beat the Twins in the second game on this list.
It's worth noting that Kottaras' cycle does not appear on this list. It was worth +.173 WPA and now ranks seventh on the list of his best games.
