Brian McCann was the star of the night tonight for the Braves, picking up hits in each of his first four at bats and finishing a triple shy of the cycle. He's the first batter to collect four hits in a game against the Brewers in 2012. It happened ten times in 2011:

Player Date Result
Ramon Hernandez March 31, 2011 Reds win, 7-6
Ryan Hanigan April 3, 2011 Reds win, 12-3
Jeff Baker April 8, 2011 Cubs win, 7-4
Cameron Maybin May 11, 2011 Padres win, 13-6
Jason Bartlett May 11, 2011 Padres win, 13-6
Ronny Paulino June 8, 2011 Brewers win, 7-6
Ryan Spillborghs July 14, 2011 Rockies win, 12-3
Albert Pujols August 11, 2011 Cardinals win, 5-2
Albert Pujols September 1, 2011 Cardinals win, 8-4
Mark Ellis September 14, 2011 Rockies win, 6-2

McCann grounded out in the eighth to finish the game 4-for-5.

The last player to get five hits in a game against the Brewers was Neil Walker of the Pirates on July 20, 2010. The single game record is six, set three times. Adrian Gonzalez was the last player to do it in 2009.
