First things first: I'm a huge Brewers fan, but this post isn't about the Brewers. It is about using Sabermetrics to construct the ultimate lineup for my softball team. I know 95% of you won't care, but for those who like Sabermetrics and lineup construction, read on.
Ok, for this season I am captaining a competitive softball team. We play Monday nights, so I'm going to update the stats weekly. After seeing numerous discussions on this site about optimized batting orders, I thought I'd let the general consensus on the site determine my batting order each week. I realize that this will be MUCH smaller sample sizes than baseball, but more than anything I thought we could have some fun with it.
We are 2 games in, and I've been collecting the following stats: AB, H, 1B, 2B, 3B, HR, BB, K, R, RBI. Are there any others I should keep?
Here are the players I have and their slash lines so far (listed in the Batting Order I made to start the season):
MR: .875/.875/2.875
JH: .500/.500/1.000
PJ: .714/.714/1.714
RT: .600/.600/1..600 .... 1K
NH: .500/.500/1.125
PJ2: .500/.500/1.250
LS: .286/.375/.661
AG: .250/.250/.750
DB: .571/.571/1.000
MA: .143/.143/.286
Thanks Sabermetricians!
